At first I laughed but I guess there's contract expiring stuff in there.
Hawks traded Howard, along with the 31st overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft, to the Charlotte Hornets in exchange for Marco Belinelli, Miles Plumlee and the 41st overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft

Honestly, I'm not a fan of GarPax in Chicago and well, the trade of Butler to reunite him with Thibs for Dunn, LaVine, and Markkanen is meh to me. LaVine is decent but the other two...Dunn, not a fan. And Markkanen can shoot but his horrid defensively.

Meh, if you're going to tank, tank. Jimmy was too good to let the team get a serious lottery pick in the future.

CP3 to the Rockets for a possible one year rental. Clips get Patrick Beverly, Lou Williams, Sam Dekker, 1st rounder. Overshadows news of Phil Jackson and Knicks parting ways.

CP3 is a nice add for Houston even if it is just a year

Is this the NBA now? Everyone just wants to play together...? Do some of these athletes know that joining other superstars means their stats don't get padded?

I give up trying to understand contracts in the NBA. Some of the numbers tossed around is insanity.
Feels like all the GMs are Oprah...You get $20M, you get $25M, and you get $18M, and you get $20324M...everyone gets freaking BoostedJack-rich.

Celtics got Hayward. Let's see if they can challenge Boston. Rudy Gobert's reaction
Heat likely now to keep Waiters and James Johnson but also might get Rudy Gay. Also retiring Bosh's jersey. Very classy move.

Unless you meant to challenge Cleveland...?

No you guys are rebuilding. Miami's coming back with the same team. Waiters re-signed so waiting for Johnson. Then to decide whether to keep Wayne Ellington or sign Rudy Gay.

Not disputing the management being bad, but his reasons aren't as straightforward as you might think. He's upset that LeBron gets the spotlight while he's the second guy on the team. He wants to elsewhere and be "the guy." He supposedly considered asking for this trade after last year's title.

I mean, Kyrie's not happy about making it to the Finals each year...? I mean, to have that shot every season is pretty darn good. Basketball players are so weird.

It's nothing new really. It's just like people in the workplace. There are some who want the credit for projects, some who impose their will and ego. Not saying that's necessarily the case, but you get what I'm saying.
Add in a superstar basketball player that hears tens of thousands of fans cheering for him, that has to inflate one's ego.

If Kyrie wants to leave, that's fine, I wish him well. He hit a monster shot to bring the city a title. The truth is though, he won't sniff the Finals again if he tries to do it on his own. He's an amazing one on one player and can beat almost anyone, but he's bad at defense and not a good facilitator. The Cavs were a lottery team for several years leaning heavily on Kyrie, even with as talented as he was.

Yeah I can't see anyone in the East taking out the Cavs with James there. But with Griffin leaving, will Cavs be able to get the right personnel guy to get closer to beating the Warriors/West foe?
