If Howard was smart...which, he already has proven, he is NOT...he would also add Chicago to his list of "demanded" teams.
The Bulls have a nice package that they can offer back to Orlando possibly.

Dirk played defense... that's news to me!
In all honesty the Mavs can probably hope to salvage the season and atleast make the playoffs next season if they can score some of the few decent (and remaining) free agents left - OJ Mayo being # 1, then Sessions/Felton and possibly Foye.
But with Cuban being so invested in Shark Tank, I doubt he's gonna take time off from filming to meet with any of those B to C rank NBA players.
And I'm over the D12 talk - he's an idiot, and the organization is just as stupid.
Le Indecision is a million times worse than Le Decision.

The Bulls? They're too busy in the rumor mills about breaking up their own team.

The problem I had with Dallas is that it seems they were more interested in signing a big free agent (DWill or DHoward) that they missed what was in front of them....a championship caliber squad. Chandler was a great fit for them.
Kaman is a good signing though. Team Germany it is...

I can tell its still surreal to him, but I'm used to it already, lol...
His press conference was great. He killed it. Even fielded several questions in espanol. I think his number choice is great too....10 is reserved for playmakers in soccer.

for me, now living in Vancouver 10 months out of the year (originally from LA), one of the best things about Nash going to the Lakers is that TSN (Canadian ESPN) will now air more Lakers games (maybe even all of them). TSN basically shows games of the Raptors and wherever Steve Nash is playing... (yes, I'm too cheap to pay for the NBA Prime ticket thingy, maybe after I get a nicer TV )

Cool factoid. I was little bit disappointed at first when he didn't keep his original number.

Gotta be on the side of the Dream Team, but I don't think its laughable like Mike, Barkley, and Magic imply it is. 80's basketball had much more of team-oriented aspect to it, which is where they would have the most advantage.
But for perspective, Bron is the size of Karl Malone, and he can do so much more and is way more athletic. I don't know what they'd do with Kevin Durant. This generation of basketball player is much more athletic and just bigger, just not as great at passing, playing the whole floor etc.
IMO, this isn't even the best version of the Redeem Team....missing too many guys. Their bench is pretty thin. Because of that, I think Espana has a great chance at gold this Olympics.

Honestly, I don't know who on the 2012 squad would guard Jordan. I also think up and down the roster for the 1992 squad has the edge on defence. As great as Durant and LeBron are, they also don't have an answer for Magic and Bird.

As athletic as today's players are, the game back then was lot more physical, so a lot of these guys can take much more contact than today's players. We're also talking Jordan in his absolute prime against Kobe who's beginning to enter his final years.
I loved Bird's tweet on it, though.

FWIW, I honestly think this is more about Kobe vs. Jordan. Kobe's feeling old, piping up about a little legacy, and Jordan still standing over his shoulder (and everyone else's) reminding them about who's the greatest ever.
I can't honestly fault Kobe for thinking his era/vintage is better. If you watched the Dream Team documentary, Magic had a tough time conceding to Mike, and Mike being Mike, has a similar chip on his shoulder with the eras after his.
If you listen to Jerry West talk, he's the same way about his guys and his era. I agree that Jordan was at the absolute height of his powers (and that Pip was an absolute beast too), but none of these guys would ever concede their era.
That said...Dream Team was the absolute greatest team ever. Basketball isn't just athletics, watch those guys pass. They were 2, 3, or 4 passes ahead of any competition. Can't say the same for the Redeemers.

Let's just play the MJ angle for a minute...considering he was keen enough to study tapes on the opposition before the Olympics, you would know he would do his homework on Beef, LeBron, et al.

I also doubt this Redeem Team would rebound over Ewing, Barkley, Robinson, Malone.

But on honest side. I agree all points of what everybody is saying with and the dream team being very ignorant about it, But they can rightfully do so. But in terms of today's basketball, the pace of the game has picked up. we are in the era of players that can play 3 to 4 positions on the court at any time. It would be one of the greatest game, but sadly it will never happen. So with that saying that Dream Team does win.

Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin has been diagnosed with a medial meniscus tear of his left knee. The injury will require arthroscopic surgery, but he will be at full readiness when the team's training camp opens this fall.
"We're relieved that this does not affect Blake's ability to be ready in time for training camp," said Clippers' Head Coach Vinny Del Negro. "Missing out on the Olympic experience will be tough for him to take. I know how dedicated he was to doing that. We're glad we can get this fixed now and take advantage of the available time for him to fully recover."
Griffin experienced discomfort following Wednesday's Team USA practice in Las Vegas. He underwent a magnetic resonance imaging examination on Thursday afternoon in Los Angeles. MRI data was then analyzed by Clippers' Team Physician, Dr. Steven Shimoyama, and Dr. Neal ElAttrache of the Kerlan-Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic.
The surgery is expected to take place fairly soon, and will be scheduled following Griffin's appointment with Dr. ElAttrache on Sunday.

^ Heard that too. I don't understand the Logic - they lose DRose and drop out early in Playoffs, and the solution is to blow the entire team up?
IMO, the only person they should've shopped ASAP is Boozer, that guy has failed to deliver ever since he drifted into the Windy City.

I did read somewhere that Thibs was asked 'Who do you want to keep' of the current Bulls, by management.
I think they're gonna re-jigger their lineup a bit....

Oh, how I love the D12 news today.
The Rockets are essentially, not only offering first round picks in additional to their 3 draft picks this year, but are basically trading their whole team for the Magic's (they will get Richardson, Davis, & Duhon in addition to Howard for Martin, Patterson, Morris, & Parsons).
All that for 1 guy?! D12 is trying to get away from Orlando & he's bringing half the team with him.
The only thing that makes this rich is that Howard is still not signing an extension.
Great move Houston. Orlando gets to rebuild & you get stuck with all their old players.
The only thing sweeter will be New York waiting until the last minute to match Lin's new offer & make Houston pay.

Houston is nuts. The thinking and warped logic that in the one year they have The Idiot's services can change his mind is flawed.
What if he does leave and remains obsessed with going to the Nets (which, I will NEVER understand from a basketball perspective)...? Houston is left with nothing and a broken team...not to mention no hope of rebuild since they would've given their next 35234234 1st round picks to the Magic.

Lin has inked his Houston deal - 3 years 25 million ($5, $5, $15 million). Now I know the Knicks will likely match that offer.. but if they match that offer and Landry's offer from Toronto, they are nuts.
