Never thought they could have all 3.
Should be interesting in the East to say the least.
Felt pretty shitty losing Bosh (eventhough he's a second and now 3rd banana) but I can only imagine how the people of Cleveland feel right now. Just doesn't seem right.

dan gilbert's open letter to cleveland:
i love it!
i've always thought gilbert was a good owner. i wonder if he's an AZ member. he did well with the puns.
dan gilbert's open letter to cleveland:
Dear Cleveland, All Of Northeast Ohio and Cleveland Cavaliers Supporters Wherever You May Be Tonight;
As you now know, our former hero, who grew up in the very region that he deserted this evening, is no longer a Cleveland Cavalier.
This was announced with a several day, narcissistic, self-promotional build-up culminating with a national TV special of his "decision" unlike anything ever "witnessed" in the history of sports and probably the history of entertainment.
Clearly, this is bitterly disappointing to all of us.
The good news is that the ownership team and the rest of the hard-working, loyal, and driven staff over here at your hometown Cavaliers have not betrayed you nor NEVER will betray you.
There is so much more to tell you about the events of the recent past and our more than exciting future. Over the next several days and weeks, we will be communicating much of that to you.
You simply don't deserve this kind of cowardly betrayal.
You have given so much and deserve so much more.
In the meantime, I want to make one statement to you tonight: "I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE THAT THE CLEVELAND CAVALIERS WILL WIN AN NBA CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE THE SELF-TITLED FORMER 'KING' WINS ONE"
You can take it to the bank.
If you thought we were motivated before tonight to bring the hardware to Cleveland, I can tell you that this shameful display of selfishness and betrayal by one of our very own has shifted our "motivation" to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels.
Some people think they should go to heaven but NOT have to die to get there.
Sorry, but that's simply not how it works.
This shocking act of disloyalty from our home grown "chosen one" sends the exact opposite lesson of what we would want our children to learn. And "who" we would want them to grow-up to become.
But the good news is that this heartless and callous action can only serve as the antidote to the so-called "curse" on Cleveland, Ohio.
The self-declared former "King" will be taking the "curse" with him down south. And until he does "right" by Cleveland and Ohio, James (and the town where he plays) will unfortunately own this dreaded spell and bad karma.
Just watch.
Sleep well, Cleveland.
Tomorrow is a new and much brighter day....
I PROMISE you that our energy, focus, capital, knowledge and experience will be directed at one thing and one thing only:
DELIVERING YOU the championship you have long deserved and is long overdue....

For all the hoopla Bron got, I think Wade is a better closer and most important player on that team. He's much more proven.
FWIW, Bosh isn't elite like Wade and Bron either, no matter how important a big he was. Ya, he's the best free agent big, but amongst all bigs he's somewhat short and lacks a good post up game. IMO he needs another good big to play next to, like Pau has Bynum/Lamar, KG has (or had) Perkins, etc.

Damn, good stuff Dan Gilbert!
There is still alot of cap space out there on some well primed teams. Are there any FAs left? I thought Chicago has some good talent...seems like they have it every year but are missing an elite player.

do you think rose can be that elite player? i think he's close to being there with paul and williams.
i think chicago needs a consistent outside shooter. i think joe johnson could have done well in chicago.

Ya, Joe Johnson would have been great there. Boozer went to what was already the NBA's best rebounding team....one good player and a good offensive system would have made them quite formidable.

I'm sorry but that letter from an owner is no class. :shakehead
We drove by the local spot where people tend to celebrate sports championships and it was pretty funny as if we had already won championships. Good to see lots of excitement after a long tiring process.

Lebron peaked in Cleveland, he will only go downhill from now. I dont see him putting up the same numbers anymore (obviously). Hes no longer a triple double threat every night and no longer the biggest offensive threat on his own team.
No more MVP's for Bron. Maybe a championship. If Bosh and Wade can stay healthy.

I dont think any player in any sport would go from back to back MVP's and finals appearance a couple years ago and best record in the conference and then sign with a different team (a team that didnt even make the playoffs)

ugh....
miami did make the playoffs last season. they lost in the first round to boston. but they still made it.
and if lebron WANTS to, i think he can still be a triple double thread every night. his points will go down, but i can see his assists and rebounds staying at least the same.

Some people on youtube are going a tad bit to the extreme. One guy says Lebron turned his back on this guy's family. Some people hoping his plane crashes. Some hope he's killed and others hope he rots in hell... hmmm I never knew changing teams in the NBA was one of God's commandments, maybe I should look that up to be sure.

Miami is now the 4th maybe 5th best team in the league. Lakers, Celtics, Mavericks and Orlando and Heat are tied. The Eastern conference is pretty weak so we can expect the Heat get off to a great start but when it comes to the better teams I don't think they will be up to the challenge. You can bet that the Celtics just got motivated and reinvigorated to show they are the real Eastern Conference champs.

Heat sign Mike Miller to a 5yr $30million contract. Took less money than the Clippers' offer.

In fact, this last Lakers run I would say Kobe cruised to the ring. Seriously except for 1 game in the finals, Kobe never really had to take control of a game in danger of losing. Kobe worked more for his ring the previous season. He was mostly chiliin on the bench this time around.
