What Would Don Draper Do?
doesn't mcgradys contract expire next year? then if yao is seriously injured and will never recuperate, in the worst case scenario, can't the rockets write that off? if this is what is happening, you guys should just tank with the guys that you have because they are all legitimate players, just not stars. then go for a star in free agency and through the draft.
brooks is legit. i can't believe everyone basically forgot about that halftime buzzer beater alley oop from half court, that was one of the most underrated plays of the playoffs.

but i absolutely agree with you. might as well tank this season, get a high draft pick, and make a move next summer. we have good pieces in place: brooks, landry, scola, ariza. all good role players. we just need players to lead them.
and besides, players love houston and its no state income tax.

agree with both of you on brooks.

He insisted a rumor he's gay had nothing to do with the breakup.
"I'm not gay," Jefferson said. "That couldn't be any further from the truth. I have nothing to hide."

Andre Miller's agent, Andy Miller, has confirmed that within 24 hours Andre Miller will be a Portland Trailblazer.
Miller said the two parties are "finalizing" the deal today and it should become official within 24 hours. His client, who has been the 76ers starting point guard for the last 2 1/2 seasons, will receive a deal that one source said was "an improvement" over the deal the Sixers were offering, which was reportedly in the 1 year/$6 million range.
12:02PM... Chad Ford of ESPN reports...
The Portland Trail Blazers have offered point guard Andre Miller a three-year contract with a team option for a third year, a source close to the process said Friday.
The contract would be worth $21 million, with $14 million guaranteed and $7 million included as a team option, the source said.
12:07PM... Jason Quick of The Oregonian reports...
The Trail Blazers have agreed to sign point guard Andre Miller to a multi-year contract, according to the player's agent.
"We're closing in on a deal, we should have one shortly,'' agent Andy Miller told The Oregonian shortly before noon.

career suicide
he has a chance for 2-3 more ring with us, and he decides to go to miami, where they are stuck anywhere between the 4-6 spot in the east
no chance for a good draft pick, and no chance for a ring

it really depends on whether wade resigns.
miami is supposedly one of the teams expected to make a run at the free agent class next summer.
so if they resign wade and get, say, a chris bosh next summer, they'll have a great nucleus along with odom, chambers, beasley, etc.
they're even supposed to be the frontrunner for boozer right now if utah decides to trade him this summer.
by signing boozer and odom, they'll also have both players' larry bird rights when their respective contracts end.
as for odom, it's clearly about the $. apparently, he's willing to take the lesser deal since not having income tax will cushion that. and LA, apparently, isn't willing to give him more than 3 years, right?

Team Owner
I'm a little confused about the Boozer thing. Isn't his contract up next summer? Why don't we just trade for him now to appease Wade. Then next summer use his expired contract space to sign Bosh. That's a sick lineup.

![Dunno](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/dunno.gif)
especially since the cap is expected to be lower in 2010.
but that's apparently what miami's enticing boozer and odom with and convincing wade that they're going to try and win.

i guess he was just holding out for a longer deal since the contract he signed is for LESS money/year.

^^totally. And yes, being a dodger fan and a Laker fan, I'm all too familiar with those 2 phrases, LOL.
He wanted to stay in LA for sure though, it was readily apparent....probably just another stupid agent 'doing his job'...

Rashard lewis suspended 10 games for an elevated testosterone level. Orlando Sentinel reports that he took a supplement with DHEA in it. DHEA is a steroid precursor.

this isn't a joke about lamar scrodom?? i thought he already had a family and kids. from cnn:
It's been about a month since Khloe Kardashian and L.A. Lakers forward Lamar Odom began dating.
But, two sources confirm to PEOPLE, the couple plan to marry, and are currently planning their wedding.
Earlier this month, the "Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami" star's older sister Kim talked to PEOPLE about the couple.
"They're very, very happy," she said. "They've been together a few weeks, and are literally inseparable. Khloe thinks he's amazing and makes her laugh and smile constantly."
