Gross miscalculation on the part of the GM. Now Bosh will be gone to FA and we're left re-building again.

East coast clippers anyone?

Looks like that Orlando trade was to cover for Nelson. What a shame.

Why did everyone and their mother have more shots than Bosh last night? Was he triple teamed or something. Hope he comes to Miami in 2010 BTW.

Does Miami plan to keep wade? Can they afford both of them?

Nah. You need decades of futility, mediocrity, a rotating door of coaches, and fake injuries sprinkled with some player dissention to earn that distinction.

can remember how many shots he had off the top of my head, but he did leave the game with a sprained knee

Damon Stoudamire, Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter wanted out. Carter didn't give 100% while getting 'injured' every second play.

We may not be the Clips just yet but we're well on our way!

LOL. Well, alright, you had Isaiah Thomas and he did chose a dinosaur as your mascot, so that does count for something.

Makes me happy to see Jermaine playing moderately well again, I always felt bad since he pretty much rotted on the end of our bench for years. I think this is one of the major reasons the Portland fans are screaming for Bayless to start, everyone is afraid of the Jermaine O'neal effect.

^^ that Blazer team JO was on was stacked. Sheed, Dale Davis, Pippen, Sabonis, Grant all at F/C.... That is a lose-lose for almost any young player.

I could see Bayless more burn than JO did.

God damn we miss bynum in this game.

and no one can be worse than the God forsaken clippers.
first off, Toronto has a multitude of fans
clippers have clipper Darryl who is going to die of a stroke soon with the way he is yelling.
i mean, imagine being in a city where everyone adores the other team down the hall. almost everyone at clipper games are there to support the opposing team if they can not afford the tickets to go to the lakers.
the other thing is, the clippers have a negative curse. when you leave the clippers, your career has gone down the drain. (ex: darius miles, EB, Q-rich, jason williams, livingston, maggette, mobley, jaric, olowakandi) only lamar, vladrad, and cassell have broken this curse.
as for toronto, when you leave, you explode. (ex: carter, t-mac, lindsay hunter, mo-pete, bonner, tj ford)

Some valid points there.

But Carter exploding after he left? Maybe its my perspective but I thought his career (playing and popularity wise) went the other way after he left.

i love the clippers cause they are always the underdog. I'd rather go to a clipper game where people might actually care about the game rather than where half the people are trying to spot some celebrities or something .

kobe was a killer in the 4th, but seems to have gotten cold again in OT. The lakers really killed themselves though w/ their FT shooting.

god i wish i was in boston
i'd probably get killed though with all the insults in my mind right now haha

amazing game though
this is where it shows that even though he doesn't do much in the first 44 minutes, the 4 minutes is Kobe time
lebron still needs to develop that.

i think the problem was that he normally shoots them while facing the basket straight up or from a wing, but he was missing from the corners.
its easier to get it from the wing because its easy to determine the angle, etc... but from the corner its rim, over, or short, and he never had the time to set up.
that's my take it for what it's worth

Yes. Shawn Marion's soon to expire cap space might go to Jermaine O'Neal should the trade go through. Jermaine will be a FA in 2010 just in time for Bosh to option out and join the Heat. Unless of course he follows Lebron to NY.

The last TWO fouls on Garnett were weak as hell..especially that last one seeing as how he was fouled first as the ball was knocked loose. As a ref, to make that call on a play like that where you KNOW a player like KG is going knocked out of the game is fucking weak. I thought the game was very sloppily officiated and I knew the celt's were finished in OT without KG. It was a frustrating game to watch.

good Lakers vs. Celts game. I see it this way, a 1 point win in over time means the teams are pretty equal on that night. So I think the Lakers themselves think they have the monkey off their back, and the Celts are probably thinking they want to see them in the finals. Nothing's decided in February.

All I know today is, it sucks to be the Knicks this week. 61 by kobe, 52/9/10 for Lebron, and very balanced scoring by the Celtics. They need to trade for a defender or 2.

^^LOL, I felt bad for the guy until I saw that pic. That is the ugliest cryface ever.

Edit: just read the news....that's a decent move. I think Morrison has a more dynamic game than Vlad has.

i don't know, morrison hasn't been able to get off the bench off the bobcats, and hasn't even been able to get consistent minutes w/ wallace out.

Maybe w/ the right coaching we'd hopefully see some skills that got him to be the #3 overall pick, but I think larry brown is one of the better coaches in the league. I suppose he's only in his 3rd season, and could still be developing, but if they were getting rid of radman for another SF, I was hoping they'd get someone better....at least like outlaw, harpring, or josh howard

^^ the real key is that we got rid of Vlad's contract. He basically turned into a 3rd string guy with Ariza and Luke getting the bulk of the minutes.

I also think Morrison is still trying to come back from a bad injury in his rookie season. Now he gets to do so while developing on the bench, without having to be a franchise savior like at Charlotte. Cheaper, more potential than Vlade, and a hippie like the coach....its a good opportunity for him and for the Lakers to get rid of a little dead weight.

yea, i guess, but i would think if they were looking to shed contract, you'd think they could find an expiring. Plus if their goal is to win a championship this year, I don't think this is a time to be thinking about salaries. And god forbid either ariza or walton get hurt, I'm not sure they want a 'developing' player.

Morrison will have to prove me wrong, and might have the skills to do so. Maybe just cause I could never like a guy that thought having a 16 year old's mustache and a mop on his head was a good look . that che look just did not work on him. I'll give him that he looks a lot more like a ball player after he cut his hair.

ps. - 2 clipper blowout wins on the road

yeah
well the reason we traded him was that radman was sitting on the bench collecting 6 million a year, and since morrison expires, it'll be much easier to resign both odom and ariza.
shannon brown was amazing in college, and i bet with the guidance of kobe, brian shaw, and fisher, he'd be a pretty good combo guard. he has the shot, but once he develops ball handling, he'll be good. as for morrison, he is an uglier, cheaper, and more precise radman haha. he's lucky he has the chance to "gary payton" it for the ring if we win. then, he can go.

yea, i think that was another huge statement game by the lakers. When they beat the cavs a few weeks back, everyone (including me) said they should beat them at home, especially w/ big Z and west out.

Now they go to the cavs home floor w/o bynum and a weak kobe and still pull out a win. Tough day for Lebron. Not sure if it was just an off day or some good team defense by the lakers. Odom definitely needs to have nights like this more consistently though....

Shit, shouldn't have been a last second shot to win that game. When we were up 17 people were already headed to the bar inside the RG, but once again Roy pulled our asses out of the fire, seriously where would we be without that guy? Oden was steady with his 2 shitty games, 1 dominate game, pattern and had a career high in blocks (6). Its almost bitter sweet to see him play so well, because I wish he could play like that every game, and not crap the bed 2/3of the time.

I'd say all this has been a pretty good lead up to the all-star game. Hopefully it all lives up to the hype.

BTW, as one of the events, they're having a game of horse, but are using G-E-I-C-O instead. Stupid.....

I don't think its an NBA scheduled event. I think TNT is having it as a side event on Kenny's court if you are familiar. So I'm not sure when it is though.

Sounds like a cool concept. All I know is, a game of horse is shooting impossible shots that turn out to be....impossible.

Cue Nate Robinson's 14 dunk attempts.....

All money balls....interesting. Very interesting....

All I can say is, I still think Larry Legend had the best line going into that competition. "So which one of you is going to finish second"....that is classic smack from one of the games best ever. He didn't even take off his warm up to shoot.
