UFC judges reminds me of American Idol judges. Sure they have experience in the field, but they are clueless when it becomes technical.

Douglas Crosby is a retard, plan and simple. I don't see how he can justify a 50-45 score in favor of Edgar - that would pretty much mean awarding Edgar every round.

My friends and I were joking through the Silva match that with the judges scoring given by the judges in the Penn match, that Meia would win by unanimous decision.

50-45? Utter BS. Leaves a very very bad taste in my mouth.

3rd round bj's corner told him to take it to the ground but bj didnt. But it looked like bj didnt want to fight or could care less about keeping his title.

Anderson should of just punished him by turning the lights out on Demian, rather than act like fool. I was so excited to see another knock out by anderson.

Wow, was I wayyy off on my predictions.

1. Hughes, you punched Gracie's glove more times that fight, then you did to his face. When you see a guy stumbling after you hit him, for god sakes GO AFTER HIM! When Hughes helped him up, I was about to throw my chair across the room. Respect is one thing, but put a fuckin fight on for your fans.

2. Penn, Did you know you were fighting lastnight? That's all I really have to say about that.

3. Silva, I have no idea where to start. The first 2 rounds were entertaining and very humorous. My friends were all pissed but I knew that was his strategy to get into Maia's head. It kind of worked. All I have to say is, right now your last 3 fights proved nothing other than you should be on the next Dancing with the Stars show. GTFO of the octagon or go to boxing and dance around like you want to.

I'll admit, Silva's antics at first were somewhat amusing, but it got really old really fast. His last two fights at 205 were fun to watch, but his last three at 185 were terrible.

Now he's saying he'd drop down to 170 and fight GSP. I would love to see this fight, but honestly I think it'd be more competitive at a catch weight somewhere between 170 and 185. Either way, if they could make it happen at ANY weight, it would draw huge.

Silvias fight was a disgrace. Judges should have awarded Maia the V just out of spite for his stupid antics.

Silva apologized again, but I don't even think he even mean it this time.

His first reaction during the post fight interviews was that he didn't feel he owed anyone an apology. Regardless of what he said afterwards, I'm sure those are his true feelings.

I'm going to get flamed for this but I don't think Silva has to apologize to anybody. His antics were unprofessional and disrespectful to Maia, but White has criticized Silva for not being more active and not putting on a show many times in the past. Now White is criticizing Silva for not ripping Maia's head off and acting like a clown taunting Maia to press the action. It's obvious White needs to put more fighters against Silva who will press the action. Otherwise leave the fighting to the fighters.

After this Silva fight, there is no way Dana is going to let Silva get the satisfaction of fighting GSP. He even said it himself. GSP is stupid if he takes the fight anyway.

Crap I went all day without checking the interweb or answering my phone so I could watch the delayed telecast without knowing an spoilers. Had my boys over for stella artois and antonio's pizza and it was a complete waste of 3 hours of my life.

1. Grove you suck ass. You should have submitted Munoz in the 1st round when you had the chance. I don't even know how you still get fights with your crappy record. If you weren't Hawaiian I wouldn't give about you.

2. Gracie you're 43 and you looked it. Why didn't you even try blocking/countering Hughes low right kick?!? He basically rendered you 1 legged and it was sad to see you getting swept over and over and laying on your back like a turtle.

3. Silva you're a f-ckin douchebag and that fight solidifies it. What's up with the air guitar/rodeo antics? You dogged out your fellow Brazilian, I wish GSP would get in the ring and humiliate you. Learn to speak some English if you want to be a UFC superstar.

4. BJ this is what happens when you go back to Hilo to train. Didn't you learn from the GSP fight? You should have stayed the f-ck in Cali with Marinovich so you wouldn't be stuffing your face with mac salad and malasadas and getting soft. I thought you would get the benefit of the judges ala Machida/Shogun but truth be you deserved to lose. Why didn't you listen to your corner and take it to the ground in the 4th round?!? You let our whole state down

Wow how the hell did I miss this.

Are you serious?? You make ZERO relevant posts in this thread and then you come in and fuck everything up for people who were waiting to watch it?? You're a fkin tool buddy. I don't even know why you bother coming into this thread, you make completely pointless posts like "Oh that looks like a good fight." You're definitely the kid who has no friends that you see standing on the outside of a group of kids trying to look like you're friends with them when they really have no idea who you are.

Pathetic.

I know the thread title says "MMA: UFC Discussion" but did any of you guys catch the Strikeforce show on CBS last night? 3 pretty solid fights, but I'm still over what happened after the main event:

Why the fuck would they jump Mayhem like that? Mayhem and Shields have no beef that I'm aware of and that was definitely a bs move on Shields camp, even if it was to hype a rematch.

Also, Strikeforce has some the baddest MMA fighters in the world.. Every time I hear White talking trash about their fighters I just laugh.

I read in the comments that Nick & Nate Diaz are in the Jake's camp.. and sure enough they're the ones who instigated and started kicking and punching Mayhem while he was on the ground. I've lost all respect for those douchebags.

Here's a better clip..

Machida - Shogun II tomorrow... I'm looking forward to this. I thought Shogun got robbed the first time around, here's hoping he can avenge the loss and take the title from Machida.

Looking forward to this match. Machida is my favorite fighter after BJ (hapa japanese FTW) and I think he will be much better prepared for Rua this time around. I thought Shogun had won by decision during their first bout. Lyoto was not prepared for Rua's hard leg kicks and evasive style. Lyoto has a big target on his back now, let's see how he steps up to handle Shogun. I hope he's as devastating as he was against Rashad

I always enjoy watching Koscheck even though he seems universally reviled by UFC fans. He will fight anyone, anytime, anyplace and is a much better striker than when he started.

Hope Kimbo gets the knockout, his game is improving as well now that he's getting some serious tutelage and MMA training.

Shogun vs Machida should be good. I think Shogun got robbed the first time around but also think that Machida wasn't on his A game either.

I am also looking forward to seeing Daley vs Koschek. There has been so much smack talk between these two. The fight better live up to the hype.

Announced yesterday that the winner of Daley vs Koschek is going to be the new TUF coach alongside GSP. I think Daley would make a better TV personality but Koschek has the pedigree to be a great coach hence his conditioning and Div 1 wrestling background.

That Rashad parody video made

Interesting. Koscheck definitely has the experience as a Div I All-American wrestler and this may translate well into coaching. Cannot wait for this fight, 5 more hours!

1. Paul Daley is a fucking no talent classless bum - he's the reason why some people still relate the UFC and extreme fighting with barbarians. I'm glad DW already cut him, although he shouldn't get paid for that fight either.

2. Still shocked by Rua's performance... I knew this fight could easily go to either fighter but a first-round knockout?? Against a fighter who has never even been knocked down?? Damn... Rua stepped his game up BIG TIME and definitely deserves the belt 100%. Can't wait to see who gets him next.

Rua completely owned tonight. He is finally showing his true potential a la Pride days. I am guessing whoever wins from Rampage vs Rashad gets next shot. Rampage/Shogun rematch would be sick but I think that Rashad matches up better due to superior wrestling, quicker reflexes and top game.

Koscheck got into Daley's head during the mount, what he said to get him to snap is unknown but Koscheck played the game plan well. Koscheck deserved the win aside from his dramatics and the bitchassness.

Wow.. is all I can say in the Rua Machida rematch. Much respect to both, both great champions. I'd like to see Shogun vs. Silva. I'm not sure who would be a good followup to Machida, possibly the upended one in the Evans Jackson bout. I was really pulling for Machida in this fight after all the bs that's been said since their first matchup. I definitely think we need to see a third matchup in the future, maybe not right away but sooner than later.

I have great respect for Shogun after that fight. Shogun stopped the fight before the ref did. Such a great sign of respect for another fighter and sportsmanship.

^ I don't think Machida really had a true fan base. The only fans of Machida were people that hated the shit out of Rashad.

Kimbo cut by UFC

long article.. so I'll just post the Kimbo part....

http://www.allheadlinenews.com/artic...er%20UFC%20113

...

White’s feelings on Kimbo Slice were mixed.

The controversial heavyweight who gained a cult following with his Youtube street-fighting video had a brief career in EliteXC. White was extremely critical of Slice’s skills at the time, saying, “Kimbo Slice sucks,” and predicting that Slice would “get killed in the UFC.”

When Elite XC folded, White asked Slice, who had been making six-figure paydays in the competing league, to work his way into the UFC on their reality show, The Ultimate Fighter.

“I have a lot of respect for Kimbo and how he’s handled this whole thing,” White said at the post-fight press conference. “There was a lot of trash talking for a couple of years by me. He took me up on my challenge, came into The Ultimate Fighter. And tonight, he got beat by Matt Mitrione. Mitrione was 1-0, and he came in and took Kimbo out tonight.”

Mitrione is a former NFL player who was also a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter. The bout matched up two of the greenest fighters to ever appear on a UFC pay-per-view or preliminary fight.

Despite promises that he had worked on his MMA skills and ground game, Slice was unable to compete with Mitrione’s skills, which were also in their early stages of development.

“That’s probably Kimbo’s last fight in the UFC,” White said. When asked later on to clarify his remarks, White was more definitive. “Kimbos done,” White said. “We’re going to cut him.”

“Kimbo made it farther than I thought he would, and like I said, I didn’t know Kimbo. I just knew what I saw (on Youtube).”

“The first time I met him, I said this is going to be an interesting meeting, with all the (stuff) I said about this guy over the last two years,” continued White. “But he came in and couldn’t have been a nicer guy. He took this seriously, trained, and went after it. His first fight wasn’t the Youtube fights you saw, but he won that fight (over Houston Alexander). He deserved another fight in the UFC, and he lost. I’ve got nothing but respect for Kimbo. I like him as a person, and I think he’s carried himself really well.”

In a post-fight interview aired on UFC’s web site, Slice said, “Dana White and the Fertitta Brothers (owners of the UFC) want fighters, and I showed that. I‘d like to win them all, but someone‘s going to walk out a loser.”

“I gave them what I expected from me,” he continued. “I’m not a quitter. In order to lose a fight, you have to beat me down or break my arm. I’m not tapping out or giving up.”

“I’ve got to pick up where I left off,” he said. I’ve got to take my training camp a little more seriously and just dedicate myself a little bit more to it. Hopefully next time when I come back, I come back stronger next time around.”

The next time around just won’t be in the UFC.

FTA: “I’ve got to pick up where I left off,” he said. I’ve got to take my training camp a little more seriously and just dedicate myself a little bit more to it. Hopefully next time when I come back, I come back stronger next time around.”

How many more times are we going to have to hear this?

Kimbo, do the MMA world a favor and retire from professional fighting and head back to the boat yard where you belong.

Agreed. Kimbo always says the same shit but fights the same way. He just can't learn or just forgets I don't know. Anyways Mitrione has steadily improved since TUF but he really needs to learn how to finish a guy. Any decent MMA fighter would've submitted or knocked out Kimbo towards the end.

I missed the Daley fight, can someone please elaborate on why he should be cut? I've honestly never heard of him but haven't been following MMA too much lately.
