So, anyone think Buchholz is cheating? Some announcers recently accused him of doctoring the ball before he throws...

I haven't seen him pitch yet this year, but I did see a clip of his routine on Sportscenter.

He is pitching really well, but the complaints aren't coming from opposing hitters, so I'm not sure I buy the idea of him doctoring the ball. To me this just sounds like some announcer trying to get his name in the news.

Has been an interesting year so far. Had a great time in Florida for spring training...saw the Tigers @ Phillies in Clearwater and Rays @ Orioles in Sarasota.

Have been to a few Reds games so far, on of which was a 15-0 ass whipping of the Nats. Might go tomorrow night against the Braves.

Also, headed to Pittsburgh at the end of the month to watch the Reds vs. Pirates for two games

As for Buchholz, I think there was something more than just rosin and water on his arm. If Jack Morris is calling somebody out on it I'll listen.

I lost most of whatever respect I had for Dennis Eckersley because of some of the stupid stuff he was saying about this. If you didn't hear it, he was talking down to anybody that wanted to question it because they weren't in the Hall of Fame...was throwing insults like a cocky teenager

I agree.

Interesting comments on MLB Radio earlier about it. They said that they are not sure that any of the younger pitchers will even know what to do with a foreign substance.

Inevitably, the Mike Stanton trade rumors have been flying. Interesting proposed trade to the Reds for a bunch of our top prospects. I can't say I'm completely against it either since it would be more than a rental.

I'm not panicking yet but our offense is sputtering with Ludwick in LF, and who knows when he'll be back and how effective he'll be when he is. I wasn't aware of how low our OF depth was in the minors until now.

In Walt Jocketty I trust!

Forgot to mention the "change of scenery" aspect for him that I've always felt was underrated when talking about trades like these (see Justin Upton as a recent example).

Imagine the tear he'd go on when he got here...worst team to one of the best, launching pad with a short left field as your home stadium, easier field to play defense in,...

"Harvey's better!"

9 innings
1 hit
0 walks
12 strike outs
1 bloody nose

And a fucking no decision. At least the METS won.

^ Nice effort, but yeah that ND has to sting. What happened with the bloody nose?

Speaking of injuries, sucks to see another pitcher get blasted in the head with a line drive (J.A. Happ).

Also, I recommend watching the Braves @ Reds game recap!!!

He was pitching with a bloody nose in the first inning.

MLB is looking at it as a foreign substance.

I don't know how long I've hated Angel Hernandez, but as long as I can remember. I remember a poll of MLB players in Sports Illustrated or something that voted him one of the worst umpires in the league. He really is awful, and a cocky fuck at that.

Watching Baseball Tonight, there were at least two other blown calls today. The one in the Jays/Rays game was comical.

There needs to be an overhaul of the whole thing in my opinion...replays, umpires, everything.

Apparently the Oakland feed showed the ball going over, the Cleveland one had the wrong angle. Shitty.

Not like Oakland is playing great, but yeah.

^ If one angle is obvious that it was a HR why does the other feed matter?

Another nice starting pitching by the ChiSox...and without Floyd and Danks.

Here's hoping they can win a few more and recover after such a horrid start.

Sigh. But, yeah...let's just admit that MLB is full of dopers and just make it legal.

Biggest hits would be to A-Rod, Braun, and Cabrera...

Mind you, A-Rod's career is over and his rep's in shambles anyhow.

I briefly heard about the possible suspensions, but are they lifetime? Hoping so so we can finally get rid of ARod once and for all

I doubt it will be a lifetime ban. Maybe 50 games. I think they need to make the first offense 1 season and a voided contract.

Had a good time in Pittsburgh a few weeks ago. Watched the Reds whip some ass on May 31st and June 1st. It's a neat stadium, but not as a cool as some people have described it

Probably going to a day game against the Pirates on Thursday.

Sorry I missed you Scottie, it is a beautiful stadium, mainly because of the city view across the river. Always enjoy going there

His title clinching hit to dead center was a thing of beauty.
