Wow...the more I read about the supposed deal with Garnett involving the 3 teams, the more I have to shake my head at McHale. 
He's effectively getting two picks. This is
compared to what Chicago was willing to give up. And at the end of the day, it's unfortunate for both franchises because I think Chicago likely would've had a good shot at being in the Finals and Minny would actually have a decent core to restart with...

yea mchale screwed up. and he is indeed an idiot.
but the problem also lied garnett. everyone knew he wanted to be traded, but he just never wanted to ask for a trade.
but for chicago, i think it's good they didn't give up dent because i think he will become a very very good player. reminds me of grant hill when he was younger. (both dukies too.)

i dunno. i never really liked the guy. i give him credit because he plays with a lot of heart. but to me, he's just tyson chandler with more skills.
he'll have a career since he's tall, long, and athletic. he can rebound and block shots. but at the same time, he's just a tyson chandler.

Bryant said that while he could have called Kupchak, it was important he speak with him face-to-face.
"I was frustrated, I was venting," Bryant said.
When asked whether he still wanted out, Bryant replied: "I haven't thought about that in a long, long time. I've kind of stepped away from that. I've concentrated on Team USA. What I say is what I say. We'll just have to see where it goes."
The U.S. national team begins practice July 20 in Las Vegas.
Bryant, the NBA's leading scorer the past two seasons, complained about a lack of talent around him at season's end, and said May 30 he wanted to be traded, adding nothing could change his mind.
Despite that request, the Lakers have made clear that trading Bryant isn't in their plans. Bryant is owed $88.6 million over the next four seasons, but could terminate his contract in two years.

but seriously, kobe's always been like that.
i mean he's the guy that grew up pretty well off in europe and in the suburbs. went to a private school. so he has no "street" cred. gets ridiculed for trying to be gangster by dressing up in throwbacks and jerseys while on the bench injured, wearing big chains, getting tattoos, even obtaining a police record. he just tries too hard to please everyone.
so now he knows deep inside he wants to be traded but is so conscientious of his image that he's going to go out of his way to apologize. he's a primadonna.

Well, look at it this way: he's still pouting about his situation with the Lakers. Passing the ball back to himself is fun to an extent before you realize that hey, perhaps winning a game or two instead of padding personal stats is a GOOD thing.

He's been in the league for a long time now and one would think that he would have seen other so called superstars stuck on bad teams (Paul Pierce with Boston, KG with the Timberwolves, Ray Allen with the Sonics, etc.) and would have thought long and hard about the Lakers retaining Shaq or at least get more than Lamar Odom and Caron Butler for him. Of course that's not Kobe's fault that they only got back two decent players but still he could have insisted on keeping Shaq in the fold. With those two players plus some have decent role players they could have won at least another title by now. Instead they've slowly become irrevelanat during the time of the year when it matters and that's the playoffs.Sure everyone loves seeing him put up a bunch of points during the regular season and he gets off on it as well, but very few players score an anormous amount of points during the real season and have their teams do well.
