Yeah...when did the Rockies win a WS? Let's get educated Fuzzy.
As for NY...they've been in a couple WS lately and lost, right?

Man!! The Cards had N O T H I N G for the Sox!! NOTHING!! Each time I turned the games on around the 3rd or 4th inning, Boston had been up by several runs.

The Cardinals became the first team in the history of the World Series to trail at some point in every inning of every game.

BTW, congrats to the Sox. They stepped up when they needed to, and the better team won this year. Now get some sleep tonight so you can celebrate this weekend!!

The Celtics won their first championship against St. Louis (1957); the Bruins broke a 41-year Stanley Cup drought against St. Louis (1970); and the Patriots won their first Super Bowl against St. Louis (2002).
Guess you can add the Cardinals to that list

Read that too - so many strange facts and records coming out of this post season, finishing with the Red Sox winning the 100th World Series, their first in 86 years, under a lunar eclipse.

The Cards fans were non-existent this World Series.

The homo:
"Yeah, I have to agree...FOX was rather biased toward the BoSox and I think that was in poor taste coming from Joe Buck, and you know? I really like him and I greatly admired his dad(I even have his dad's autograph!)...
Also, there wasn't any need for for Pedro acting the fool like Luna(Dodger Luna) did at Dodgers Stadium in the playoffs, in the dugout, last night. Not to mention the lack of class the BoSox fans showed by unnecessarily loudly chanting like they did at Busch last night. I mean, gosh, they act like they own Busch as well as Fenway Park, and it just wasn't very courteous and respectful to the Card fans or the Cards, period. They ought to be so fortunate that Cards fans are the best in the world and are so gracious to teams that play there..."
..and the Reply
You can't blame the Red Sox fans for bringing it to Busch. Tickets to Fenway were impossible for this series, with tickets in the range of 3k per seat. Sox fans wanted to see the World Series. But that's beside the point. Go to any game in the world and there will be a good number of people pulling for the away team. The surpsising thing to me is that the Cardinals fans never really showed up. They booed more than they cheered, and 90% of the time that stadium was as quiet as I've ever heard. It was a 1-0 game last night, and judging from the crowd you'd think it was 20-0.
I'm not trying to badmouth the Cardinals or their fans, but I did find it funny that I could hear 3 10-year-old kids yelling "let's go red sox" over the 50,000 other people in that stadium.

Anybody catch Jimmy Fallon on the field at the end of the game making out w/Drew Barrymore (I think) - I think they were filming the end of the movie he has coming out about a crazy sox fan. I'm guessing they had to change the script following the events of the last week and a half.

They are going to have to come up with a team with the charisma, chemistry, class (and the rookies like Jeter) of those years to compete (i.e. not choke).
The yanks farm system isn't doing that great, which is part of the reason The Big Unit didn't go to NY. NY's farm system didn't have anything AZ wanted. Nick Johnson
and Alfonso Soriano are example of who's gone (wasn't John Mabry traded for Giambi??). Look for the yanks to buy some pitching (Lowe and Pedro ??) and dangle a few of the veteren hitters on their bench in trade for some prospects.
Should be an interesting off season...

Since 1978 (79-on), the Yanks have made 6 WS appearances with 4 victories (.666). The Braves are second with 5 WS appearances but only 1 victory (.200) but three other teams have two WS wins in this time period: Dodgers, Florida and Toronto.
That said, I'd say the Yankees more than made up for not winning since 2000 by establishing an end of the millenium dynasty.

Let's shut up about the yankees and give the sox fans their time in the sun.

Pedro may want a 3 year deal, which the Sox might not want to do... Pedro has to decide if he really wants to be in boston, or wants to play for the highest bidder.
I think you'll see one of the 2 in a Sox uniform next year...
BTW: Schilling has a clause in his contract that give him another year since he helped bring the WS win to Boston. Schilling will be around for another 2 years now.
