Not sure what has happened to him. Is the pressure in Edmonton THAT bad that he is completely screwed in the head...?

News flash...Pens suck (ass)

Hard to pick a team that is the most disappointing right now. While Chicago, LA and Edmonton are sucking too...they were there last year. So I'm-a-thinking the Pens got the title on this one right now.

Lighter note...douchebag wilson had a goal...then took out the goalie for a penalty. How does this suspension get lifted?

the pressure can be crazy high here, but nobody really even talks about him anymore. Everyone has accepted that he was at one point a power payer, but now he’s over 30 and can’t give it like he used to. We’re also stuck with his contract. Hating on him won’t change anything,

Wow, I can’t believe I just said that.

Is it sad that the oilers are winning 4-2, with under 8 minutes in the 3rd period left, and I’m scared they very much can still lose this game?

Though koskinen... our 2.5M backup goalie... he’s pretty damn good. He’s won 4 of his 5 starts this year. I wonder if he might end up giving Talbot a run for his money, one day. I think it might be sooner than later, too.

Thanks for the trade Moogy!

Hags was great for us during 2 cup runs, but his offense and scoring has been non-existent lately, Pens needed to make a move and get some fresh blood, not sure this will be the end, but it's something

Caveat: I believe you'll lose speed in getting Pearson. The Kings are SLOOOOOOOW...

We'll see how he fits in our system. He's scored a fair amount of goals which is what the Pens need right now, so we'll see. I do expect it to take Pearson a while to fit into our system and speed play, time will tell

Hags play does not fit the west coast...he was horrible in Anaheim, don't expect better in LA. Sad to see a solid back checker go...but agree with his current play. Hope Pearson can put the bisquit in the basket.

Sid being evaluated for an UBI. The way he hit the wall after that goal...not unexpected

Other news...chi town wins one. Holy shit on the blocked shot and tooth loss by Tarasenko. Dont question his toughness anymore...

Hawks finally win one...the hard way too. 1-0. Yikes.

Well, a limped win is still a win. Let's see if they can build on this or go back into their hole promptly.

Sharelli trade!

Strome traded for Spoonee.

So, essentially, it's Eberle for Spoons.

Good luck with Spooner Edmonton. He is a production vampire. He will score (alittle) but he will also suck the productivity from everyone he is on a line with.

What's the point? Hope a change of scenery produces change? Why did the Rangers just sign him to a 2 year contract? More lame management tricks!

Here's my theory and I think it's very plausible...

The Rangers, a NY team, seeing how things have turned out for NJ and the Isles, decide to also trade with Sharelli in hopes they also get a "Sharelli-trade". So, naturally, Strome will become a 60 point player or better now.

You watch.

Hey, Hawks stink too. Kings stink. Old guard...yeah, that's what they are.

The Leafs...without AM and WN...still doing good. They are the new "it" team, I guess. Still, I really like Tampa, Winnipeg, and Nashville.

Annnnnd Edmonton is back to Earth...and now starting to dig into the dirt.

If they keep losing, I think Coach Todd is joining Coach Q on the unemployment line.

I still don't get the Edmonton trade for Spooner. Reading the scouting report, despite Strome not scoring much, he was at least anchoring the 3rd line and actually killed penalties. Spooner doesn't do any of that...and this just reeks of Sharelli going to get a former Bruins player for giggles. Like, Spooner isn't even defensively responsible and right now, Edmonton needs help stopping pucks from going into their net because their starter, Talbot, is now officially a basketcase proving the shelf-life of goaltenders in Edmonton is about 1-2 years tops before they need to be committed to the psyche ward.

Koskinen is the new #1? Wow.

I dunno, dude...I'd be surprised. He'd be at odds immediately with Sharelli and that squad isn't going to change with a new coach and system...and in fact, Q's system may not work for Edmonton as the squad on the blueline isn't fast enough.

TBH, I think the best candidate for Edmonton is Tippett...he probably can shape that squad into something that is competitive because he knows how to work magic with limited resources.

Pressure is high in this town. But... it’s high in other cities too. Toronto seems to be doing alright.

I dunno. I don’t get it. Is another coach really the answer? Todd used to get the Sharks fairly deep into the playoffs, year after year after year before coming to Edmonton. He got Edmonton there once before also. To me it points to the problem being higher up on the food chain: Chiarelli.

he keeps making awful trades. He then gives Todd worse players than the ones they replaced and expects Todd to make miracles happen. Um... what planet is he from?

I think it’s time the owner finally took a good look and dumps chiarelli for someone a bit better suited for the job.

Oh, so you mean they’d have to start all over again? Good.

What they’re doing now is not working. They shouldn’t require another 2 seasons to be convinced. Start dumping and rebuild properly this time.

I would suspect if Edmonton misses the playoffs, both coach and GM are gone...and with that, oof. Another McDavid year poof.

As constructed, tell me if the smell test tells you they can get past Nashville or Winnipeg. If you agree, then yeah, I guess they need to overhaul the team significantly.

Typical Pittsburgh fans, the team is struggling so now the fans are calling for the coach that won the cup 2 of the last 3 years be fired and replaced by Coach Q

FWIW, I think Coach Q would be great with the Pens. Not that hiring him would bring about the necessary improvements...? Unless you think Sully has lost the room. I would doubt that though.

He hasn't, I think the leadership is lacking this time of year. Last night Cullen and Crosby were out and Malkin, Letang, Hornqvist and Kessel had to lead. They certainly came out inspired and played a strong 1 1/2 periods, went up 4-1, then went to sleep and let Buff come back and tie it up. It was a fun game to be at, till they completely stopped skating in the third and OT.
