Hey, you guys remember that time Sharelli thought putting a 7-year, 6M/y, anvil on the ice, next to McJesus was a good idea?

Awful. RIP.

Also, apt end to a blown season. Lose the last game 5-0 & help the Flyers clinch.

A lot of first round matchups that are interesting.... I would love to see the Avs knock out Trashville in the first round

We are back in the playoffs. I honestly don't have much of a hope for the series itself. The teams real achievement is just the overall turn around compared to last year. What I am hoping to see is if MacKinnon has another level for when it comes to the playoffs. If there is even another level to his game it will just be fun to watch.

Excited to watch the Pens/Flyers series. That will be some really good hockey.

Congrats on the Nordiques making the playoffs. What a turnaround!

For me, it's either Mac or Hall as the Hart Trophy winner. All this "debate" about McDennison deserving it is complete horse-bleep. How is he an MVP on a team that's 17 points out of the playoffs?

So, um...without him, they are 2343143431 points out? Does it make a difference?

Stupid. Very stupid. Nate Mac or Hall for MVP.

Nordiques. I was actually wearing a Nordiques hat yesterday. Always makes me happy when I have someone comment on it that actually knows about them. You instantly know they are a really big sports fan or long time hockey fan.

I absolutely agree with your assessment. If Mac doesn't win it then I want Hall to win. How many points you score doesn't matter if you can't get your team to the playoffs plain and simple.

Had to look up the numbers for sure but the pace Mac on PPG wise him and McDavid might be 1 pt apart had Mac not missed 8 games. Even missing 8 games he was able to help get his team to the playoffs. Hall missed 6 games and was still able to help his team to the playoffs. Will be awful dissapointed in the league if they give the award to McD. That being said that is what I fully expect them to do.

A heartbreaking day for everyone who loves hockey

Fifteen people are dead after a collision on Friday between a Saskatchewan junior hockey team’s

peat moss. Both vehicles were obliterated by the impact. The tractor-trailer driver was unhurt, and was
given mental-health assistance after the collision, the RCMP said.
Humboldt is a small town of 5000 in Saskatchewan.

Been following this since it happened but not much has really been mentioned about it. Such a sad sad tragedy. I guess maybe not much is known or maybe news up in Canada just only reports facts and not speculation like the junk we have here. Only thing I can think of is that happened is the truck was traveling down the straight and the bus driver forgot to look or something and pulled out right in front of him. I can't seem to come up with any other way that it would occur.

Also finally got time to read that article. Some of the best info so far on the actual road and intersection. Seems almost as if it had to be the truck drivers fault since he had a stop sign.

Yumcha, I think your wish came true... the odds of Edmonton getting that first pick overall again are pretty much zero. I think 8 teams finished behind us.

What's surprising to me is the NYR finished one point behind Edmonton, and Chicago was on point behind the NYR. Shiiiet... our teams got spanked this year.

Hawks lost a future HoF in Hossa and their #1 goalie. Sharelli mangling your team is no excuse.

As punishment, Edmonton should give away McDennison to a deserving team. Like Chicago that has been completely poached free of their depth and good supporting players thanks to the cap.

Not particularly...just as a casual fan. BUT...I would not mind the Winnipeg Thrashjets taking it all. That city has seen it's share of heartbreak in hockey.

The match-up between Boston/Toronto is probably stupid vs. stupid: Kadri vs. Marchand.

And it's a duel of who is going to pull the stupider stunt in agitating/cheapness.

Where is that Afro-American Label to defend Marchand's honor anyways? Did we really drive him away with the obviouslys and Finlandian jokes?

It's conceivable the Pens can do it but...I don't know if they have the gas left for another 16 back-breaking wins. We'll see. A team with 3 studs like Phil, Sid, and Ev is pretty damn scary...no team has that immediate tier of talent all in one spot.

It's gonna be the Andersen/Rask show. That's the series since both teams have no problem burying quickly and often..

Aside from that, would be interesting to see a knights/Pens final & give Fleury a shot at his old crew
