How is Edmonton's far system anyways? I haven't looked but checking the roster, you guys had that
guy and Sleepyhead...and that's...it? Oh that Yamaguchi kid who is back in junior. I ask this because with giant contracts (see Chicago, Boston, Pittsburgh) is to use the farm system to fill the rest of the team...cuz, well, kids are cheap.
Does Edmonton have the system yet to do this or are they seriously just relying on drafting #1 overall for every goddamn position? I think defense and goalie are next.

Well, don't matter. Sharelli's strategy is to get Dahlin. So, now, they'll have that #1 overall pick who is a d-man. Just need a goalie who is #1 overall picked too. When is a generational goalie showing up in the draft?

I am not a conspiracy theorist but the Rangers are playing worse than seems possible. They have to be losing on purpose for the better draft pick.

Actually... I heard that chiarelli said he doesn't want karlsson. Edmonton apparently has no interest in him.

clear that the Sens are a budget team. Karlsson is at least being shopped around
because no way will Melnyk pay market value to keep him, and he's a UFA next summer
so .. makes sense to try and get what they can for a hot commodity.
I kinda hope he goes. I feel bad that such a talented player has no chance of
winning a cup as long as he's with this team, at least the Melnyk version of this team.

I think to even get into the convo about Karlsson, Edmonton would need to dump some salary. The ONLY high-salaried player that is movable is either Drysightoe or Noojent-Hoppityhops. So, you move either one of those and probably need to throw in a 1st-rounder or two, Pooyeeyarvee, and likely Cleftlipbalm or Nurse Nancy.
