Well, I think we've established that over the last 5 years or so, no team has failed more in hockey than the Oilers.

I just read MacTavish's recent state-of-the-union presser...he tossed his own boss under the bus. NICE.

Really? I hear they want Bylsma because of his track record with young players. But, honestly, which coach wants to go work there?

Set up to fail from day 1. Still can't MacT expected Eakins to compete with a team with no centers and a blueline full of #4s and #5s.

Bylsma won't solve shit in Edmonton, just more pet projects and lack of adaptability, good luck with that...

Well, while we can agree Bylsma won't take the Oilers to the promised land, he is generally a good players-coach and can bring a nice up-tempo system to the team that suddenly can't score despite all of that 1st-overall talent.

Sure, they may give up a pile of goals but at least, they would be entertaining and in good-old-fashioned shootout type games.

Anyhow, just conjecture at this point...MacT's presser made zero sense. He blamed everyone and said change is coming but refused to fire anyone or trade his "core". So, WTF is changing? The weather?

Can't do it, he said he was a blackawks fan, it would upset the delicate balance of hockey talk. If he became a regular along with and we'd have 2.137 Chicago fans taking us over the 2 fan limit.

The fledgling NHL had some problems right out of the gate as well. Without a team in Toronto, the NHL had no presence in one of Canada’s largest cities. At the same time, the Quebec Bulldogs decided that they could not participate in the league’s first two seasons due to financial difficulties. This left the new league with only three teams (the Montreal Canadiens, Montreal Wanderers, and Ottawa Senators). To address both issues, the league awarded a temporary franchise to the owners of Toronto’s Arena Gardens,
And that's why it's the center of the hockey universe.

What's with the Cali teams losing to the bottom-feeders of the NHL? First the Sharks play streak-buster to the Oil. Now, the Kings got shutout (really?!?!?) by the Sabres. Yeah, THOSE Sabres.

Clearly Babs saw the juggernaut that were the Leaves and knew their coach wasn't going anywhere so he decided to re-up in Detroit.

Poor bastard.

Babs so so taken aback by the skill and power of the Leaves that right after last nights beat down at the hands of Phil and Co, he ran up into Hollands office and begged for that contract extension. Because of his desperation, he likely settled for around 250K per year.

Or, the more likely scenario was Ken reminding Babs he's lost to Leaves twice this year and his stock around the league dropped so bad that he punishment was staying in Detroit.

As if that embarrassment wasn't bad enough I also heard that Babs will be forced to now drive a used 2011 Acura TL that was generously donated by a season ticket holder.
