Yes, they are pansy if they don't fight. If you don't want physical-old-time-hockey, then watch the European league.

Bertuzzi gets 12 game and the playoffs.

I thought he'd get a longer suspension.

NHL Suspends Bertuzzi for Season for On-Ice Attack
TORONTO - The National Hockey League on Thursday suspended Vancouver Canucks forward Todd Bertuzzi for the remainder of the season, including the playoffs, after a vicious on-ice attack earlier in the week that left an opposing player with a fractured neck.
The league also said it would consider Bertuzzi's eligibility for the 2004-2005 season.
"We want to make clear that this type of conduct will not be tolerated in the NHL," Colin Campbell, NHL executive vice-president said in a statement.
It's too bad the fans have to suffer but the league did the right thing. Do I hear a full year suspension?

Bertuzzi got what he deserved from the NHL. Now he needs to be criminally charged and sued by Moore. What a goon.

Anyway, Since I correctly called the NE Patriots the SuperBowl Champs a few months before the game, I think I'll go out on another limb and say the Ottawa Senators will win this years Stanley Cup. Lest face it. This is a good balanced, well coached hockey team that can taste it, coming to within 5 minutes of the final last year.

Would I like to pick the Leafs? Sure but injuries are sure to mount and they'll eventually sucumb to a more rested and healthy team.

You heard it hear first, the Ottawa Senators, 2003/04 Stanley Cup Champions.

``I had no intention of hurting you and I feel awful for what transpired,'' Bertuzzi said.

biggest crock of shit evar

The NHL also fined the Canucks $250,000 and said Bertuzzi will forfeit $501,926 of his $6.8 million salary this season. The league said the 29-year-old Bertuzzi's eligibility for next season will be determined by Commissioner Gary Bettman before training camp. One factor will be the physical condition of Moore, who's in stable condition at a Vancouver hospital and will miss the rest of the season.

The really sad part is that because so few people care about hockey, they won't even click on the link to vote.

Well, this is all assuming that the Flyers don't beat the living crap out of them during their next game in April. :P What a third period that was - I think it took about 45 minutes to finish the last 5 minutes of the game. True to form, the Philly fans booed on the two faceoffs where someone didn't immediately drop the gloves

I vote for Bertuzzi's suspension to last through next year, or at least a big part of it. When Hextall rushed Chelios he got a 1/4-1/2 year suspension the following year (of course, it was the Flyers last game), and that was just for fighting.

I don't know if picking the Pats was exactly risky domn The Sens though....

Well, I'm not a New Yorker, but as a Flyers fan I rather enjoy how they run that franchise, at least in the years between 1940-1993 and 1995-present They are the anti-Yankees - doesn't matter how much money they spend on a team, they still suck.

Lindros who?

Who are the five brighties that voted for Toronto?

A team that loses to the worst team in the leaugue at home while battling for playoff postioning and first overall has no chance of doing anything. What the leafs need is a system. With Quinn they have no such system, its just go out and play. All the teams who've won anything in the last 10 years have a great system in place. I'm watching yesterday's game and I see Antropov and Ponikorovsky on the penalty kill???? WTF you have Ron Francais and Joe Nieuwendyk two of the premier penalty killers in the leugue on the bench?? Is that coaching? And Quinn has never been known to match lines come playoff time. Their opponenst are always one step ahead of them, which IMO will be the case this year as well.

maybe you should consider Quinn is simply using the remainder of the regular season's pretty much meaningless games to work out potential lineups and matching players together to get ready for the playoffs... its more important to work out lineups for the playoffs than play the games for the rest of regular season.

WTF was with that game?? I tuned in only a couple minutes into the first period and Tampa already had a two man advantage! I knew it wasn't going to be a good night from that point on so I went to a movie instead.
