This is stuff from the Twilight Zone...

Blues/Kings in 2013:
Game 1: Alex Steen scored game-winning goal in OT.
Game 2: Barret Jackman scored game-winning goal.
Game 3: Blues outshot Kings by nine, get shut out.
Game 4. Blues blew 3-2 lead late in third period, lost 4-3.
Game 5: Alex Pietrangelo scored game-tying goal (his first of the playoffs, assisted by Jaden Schwartz), Blues lost 3-2 in OT.
Game 6: Blues lost 2-1, eliminated from playoffs.

Blues/Hawks 2014:
Game 1: Steen scored game-winning goal in OT.
Game 2: Jackman scored game-winning goal.
Game 3: Blues outshot Blackhawks by nine, get shut out.
Game 4: Blues blew 3-2 lead late in third period, lost 4-3.
Game 5: Pietrangelo scored game-tying goal (his first of the playoffs, assisted by Schwartz), Blues lost 3-2 in OT.
Game 6: ???

So, a loafing millionaire Russian got two people fired because the loafing Russian has a laziness problem?

Cool.

Fire people who were brought in to help you but because you are lazy and irresponsible, get them fired. What a great thing, sports.

I dunno...from my observations, he tried. He brought in players that apparently, the Caps were missing (i.e. Brouwer, Ward) to upgrade their grit and "intangibles" to surround what was supposedly a really GREAT core.

Who knew Ovie would fall from being in conversations to be the planet's greatest to now, a bad-attitude selfish...loaf?

Remember, just a couple years ago, Ovie was in the same conversation as Crosby. And with Semin, Backstrom, Green, the Caps had a core almost all the NHL envied.

Somewhere, the wheels fell off of that.

Personally, I think giving Ovie the captaincy was the start of sending the Caps down this path of mediocrity. He's not captain-material.

He was outstanding when he was NOT a captain.

Cost of a testicle related incident is going down.

Dallas Stars forward Ryan Garbutt has been fined $1,474.36, the maximum allowable under the CBA, for spearing Anaheim Ducks forward Corey Perry during Game 5 of the teams’ First Round Stanley Cup Playoffs.

If Holland can earn a big payday for brilliant signings like Weiss, TooToo, Sammy, Cleary and Jimmay. I surely have the ability to get overpaid as GM in the Count's league!

Of the guys in here who have a legit team that they cheer for (not counting the fair-weathered fans), black label's Bruins got the easiest first round...ever.

Say what you will Yummy but Detroit gave Boston trouble all year and they were no push overs in the playoffs. All 5 games were played very close.

Detroit and Montreal is no easy road for Boston.

C'mon dude. This series was never in doubt against the Things. The Habs are a tougher match-up but given the Lilliputian size of that squad, the bigger Bruins should have a winnable series as well.

And also, don't quote past playoff series either. I never understood how past years' playoffs has any bearing on the present. And your Bruins won as recently as 2011 in the series where all Pengoons like to remind you about Chara's "dirt".

Please don't quote me regular season stats and all that baloney. Don't care that Habs won all or most of the games or whatever. Again, playoffs are a different beast.

I think you're being very generous. Jimmay still has not earned his paycheck, but the future is bright in Hockeytown.

Not returning:
Cleary
Bertuzzi
Tootoo
Sammuelson

Wouldn't shock me if they sign Ultra-Alfie to another 1yr deal. Weiss needs to actually play more than 20 games next year. Will have to make a decision on Quincy, but he was not worth the trade to get him back IMO. Plenty of spare powder to sign the kids to extensions and perhaps resign Monster at the right price.

Probably the biggest mistake on Holland's watch was signing the Mule to a long term deal instead of Hossa. Wings still have a nice mix of veterans and youth to make another run at a cup...
