Need some draft advice. I joined a league complied mainly of people at my girlfriend's office. Turns out there's 14 teams. Too many IMO but anyways. For some odd reason the league commissioner botched the draft date and scheduled it for tomorrow night so scoring won't start until Week 2.

Okay now the question. In the league I can start 2 RBs, 3 WRs, 1 TE, and 1 TE/WR. 4 WRS!!! Plus 1 Defensive player (in addition to your standard Defense/Special Teams pick).

Suggestions? WR's aren't typically high scoring with the exception of the top 15 or so players. TE's are even worse. So I'm likely to start 4 WR's. How the hell do I run a draft like that? I'm going to need to draft something ridiculous like 6 WR's to be safe. Insane.

well you could take tony gonzalez or clark from indy. or that visanthoe guy from minn for a good producing TE so you wont have to have so many damn WR's

Here is my team this year...

This is the structure... 1QB, 2WR, 2RB, 1TE, 1WR/RB, 1K, 1DEF

QB: Phillip Rivers, Shaun Hill
WR: Randy Moss, Reggie Wayne, Josh Morgan, Mushin Muhammad, Percy Harvin
RB: Brian Westbrook, LenDale White, Marshawn Lynch, LeSean McCoy
TE: Dustin Keller
K: David Akers
DEF: Baltimore

So I am stumped on who to play in my WR/RB slot this week. Lynch being suspending mixed up my starting line up this week.

Here are my options...

Josh Morgan (SF - WR) @ Ari
Percy Harvin (Min - WR) @ Cle
Mushin Muhammad (Car - WR) @ Phi
LeSean McCoy (Phi - RB) @ Car

Oh and here's my team in another league

QB: Peyton Manning/Matt Hasslebeck
RB: DeAngelo Williams/Ryan Grant/Reggie Bush/Julius Jones/Edgerrin James
WR: Marques Colston/Santonio Holmes/Jeremy Maclin/Hakeem Nicks
TE: Chris Cooley/Vernon Davis
K: Stephen Gostkowski
Def: Baltimore/Arizona

I think I should do well although I'm a little weak on the bench.

This 14 team league is nuts. The draft was by far the fastest I've ever done. It was over in just over an hour. I couldn't keep up on my list.

Here's how I ended up:

Starters:
QB: Drew Brees
WR: Wes Welker/Santana Moss/Lance Moore
RB: Steven Jackson/Ryan Grant
TE: Chris Cooley
TE/WR: Michael Jenkins
K: Stephen Gostkowski
DEF: San Diego
D: Patrick Willis (LB-49ers)

Bench:
QB: Shaun Hill
RB: Knowhon Moreno
WR: Chris Henry/Brandon Stokley
TE: Vernon Davis

I'd go with Muhammad as well. Morgan and Harvin could very well out perform Muhammad as the season progresses, but in Week 1, it's best to stick with the most proven guy. Plus, the 49ers say they are committed to the run, as are the Vikings. Also, Carolina will probably being playing from behind, so the Panthers will be flinging the ball all day.

Week 2 in a .5 points per catch in a PPR league, who do I start. Pick 3

Steve Smith v. Atlanta
Earl Bennett v. Pitt
Mark Bradley v. Oak
Kevin Walter v. Tenn
Laurent Robinson v. Wash

So far I'm leaning towards Smith, Bennett (Tenn receivers got open and Cutler loves him) and Bradley (oakland's best shutdown corner will be on Bowe)

Need some help with QBs. I can start 2 of them.

Rodgers vs. Cincy
Flacco @ SD
Warner @ Jax

Cincy is pretty crappy and Rodgers is home, but made some horrible throws last week.

Warner can have a good game, but hasn't been in sync as of late.

Flacco tore it up last week, can he do it again?

Thoughts?

I had a terrible first week... I scored the least amount of points in the entire league so I'm now dead last

I'm worried after Oakland's strong defensive showing last week, and at the same time I'm worried if SD's poor showing as just a fluke. Also the whole thing with Cassel coming back off of his injury, will he be ready?

Santana Moss vs. St. Louis
Mark Clayton @ SD
Chad 85 @ GB

BENCH
Dwayne Bowe vs. Oakland
Patrick Crayton vs. NYG

I have faith in Flacco. He made some really good throws in week 1. Warner on the other hand was looking shaky. I wouldn't start him until he proves himself. Last time he lost the Super Bowl he played like shit, and when he went to the Giants he just didn't look the same. Just sayin, I'd be careful with Warner for now.

Rodgers was my sleeper pick for this year. Knock on wood.

Those were pretty much my thoughts as well. I tend to have the weirdest luck in FF. I know Warner has the ability to throw for 300+, and it generally happens when I sit them. I had Flacco on the bench last week and started Warner and Rodgers.

If Warner ever gets in sync, he could easily have another 4500 yard season.

I didn't truly, truly get into football until that 2001 season. Warner was a beast... and to clarify, the last time he lost the Super Bowl with the Rams, the season after that he sucked, and the suckage continued until a couple seasons earlier. I would wait until Boldin is healthy though... a healthy Fitzgerald and Boldin will spread the secondary. While he's no Marshall Faulk, Hightower picked up the slack out of the backfield last week too I think Warner will be okay.

speaking of Hightower, I got screwed with all my drafted running backs.

I drafted LT - not such a good idea, the 30-year old brick wall, which I forgot about. Sproles had a better performance, and LT's got an ankle sprain.

Derrick Ward - Cadillac Williams announced as starter right before season starts its kinda messed up but I wouldn't mind if Cadillac shows his injury prone side again.

Beanie Wells - yeah...

These are tough decisions. Moss did nothing last week, but they are playing garbage STL. Clayton did fairly well last week and he has Flacco throwing to him. Chad 85 will likely catch a few passes, but GB's D is quite good so who knows. Crayton will be getting a lot more looks now that TO is gone, but against NY's D?

I have all those players, except Bowe, scattered across a few leagues. I am starting them all except Chad.

I just took Chad 85 off my starting lineup because promises to do a Lambeau leap when he scores a TD. Usually when they talk shit like that, they get shut down.

^^^^dont nkow about beanie or ward...they arent premier backs they would def be good bench players....ward plays behind cadillac who looked explosive against a good dallas defense and highhower was definelty pulling his weight for arizona so dont expect him to sit out too much either with that kind of production...i would def look for or trade for a premier back since you dont have one....LT was already told that he would be sharing time with sproles this season so he wont get the bulk of the carries either

Ward is decent.... would be a hell of a lot better if Cadillac was on the bench/IR list though. Damn it! Not looking too good for Beanie, but I'm gonna hold onto him since I'd rather drop James Davis, and at the moment there's no one better in the free agency pool.

Santana Moss, you disappoint me again. Who knew rusty Matt Cassel would throw a TD strike to Bowe? I can't watch the game since I'm at work... was Nnamdi covering Bowe and letting him slip by on that play or what?

Santana Moss, FTL.

Well, I lost one game and won the other 2. Randy Moss only got me 2 points. That's not cool.

And to Sproles. He saved me a win.

Santana Moss is a bastard. Couldn't get at least ONE receiving TD against the Rams secondary? REALLY? same with Mark Clayton.... my receivers and running backs are except for Chad and Fred Jackson (who will most likely split carries once Marshawn is back)

Ronnie Brown FTW!

I was losing by a few points before tonight's game and only had Ronnie B left to play while my partner had Pennington and Wayne. RB gave me 25 points and Pennington and Wayne only made 10 points together.

2-0 in all 3 leagues.

son of a!!!!

here's my RB/WR lineup

RB Derrick Ward, TB RB [Breaking News] @Buf » L 20-33 3
RB Fred Jackson, Buf RB [Breaking News] TB » W 33-20 19
RB/WR Chad Ochocinco, Cin WR [Breaking News] @GB » W 31-24 15
WR Santana Moss, Was WR [Breaking News] StL » W 9-7 1
WR Mark Clayton, Bal WR [Breaking News] @SD » W 31-26 2
TE John Carlson, Sea TE [Breaking News] @SF » L 10-23 4

here's my bench

Bench Dwayne Bowe, KC WR [Breaking News] Oak » L 10-13 11
Bench Dallas Clark, Ind TE [Breaking News] @Mia » W 27-23 27

I ended up losing, 76-100. If I subbed Dallas Clark for Carlson that would have been 99-100. And if I started Bowe over Moss or Clayton too that would have put me over the top! FML
