I'm not feeling the excitement I normally do with a World Cup. Personally, I've never been busier with work. I'm also planning a lot of travel during this World Cup, so I won't get to watch as many matches as I want.

Well, that first match went pretty much as expected. Hard to imagine the host team not advancing to the next round.

Yea. I think Uruguay should win that group easy. Egypt might have a shot if Salah can play..

Looking forward to Spain vs Portugal tomorrow... took the day off

Uruguay pulled off a nice win at the last minute. So far, lots of goals in the last minute.

I haven't seen all the games this year but this was the best match for me even with the tie. Almost an upset but man Ronaldo came through.

Disappointed about Peru. Winnable game and they had a chance for an upset. And WTF Argentina LOL.

Great game with Mexico and Germany. Germany was shook. Brazil/Switzerland was pretty good. Beautiful goals.

Dang where are the posts here. So disappoint. Let's see what I watched recently

Colombia/Poland - Saw 2nd half and it was Colombian domination.

Japan/Senegal - Very entertaining game. Some really nice goals

Germany/Sweden - God I love watching Germany play and hope they advance with Mexico. What a fucking game this was. That gamewinner at the 90+5' Fue un golazo!!!

Mexico/South Korea - Mexico looks really good

Argentina are trash. Always have been. They got lucky when they advanced so far whichever recent cup it was.

England are also usually trash. Yea they've played great so far... against weak teams. Not changing my mind on them until I see them play a competitive team.

I agree Mexico also look good, as do Croatia and Portugal. Germany looked really good.. dominating possession and tons of chances.. but gotta put it in the net.

Lots of PKs andd extra time goals.. adds to the fun watching it. And own goals. I heard on the radio that last WC had 6 total own goals. This one already had 5 in the first round of games

Dude Argentina made it to the final. Luck only gets you so far. You're right about England. Not holding my breath on them plus let's see what Belgium does to them. Uruguay beat a bunch of garbage so looking forward to seeing them face some real comp. Crap I think Spain would've been eliminated had they not gotten off the last goal.

Big games today with potential big time eliminations. I hate that there's 2 games at once. I can only stream one at a time on my phone.

Damn Sweden whooped Mexico's ass and Germany was peppering South Korea in the first half. Shame Germany isn't advancing but not their strongest squad.

Wow.

Like this really might be the best World Cup as far as wtf's and late goals. Germany out USA didn't make it . Sweden topping the group in the last game over Mexico after Mexico was playing lights out prior .

Who knows what to expect going forward.

Fucking great, entertaining games today. Glad Argentina lost.. trash...

That Mbappe is cray fast/good. MVP of the game. Fucking cray 1337 goal by the French defender... WHAT A VOLLEY!

Great Portugal vs Uruguay game. Portugal seemed to dominate possession but Ronaldo just couldn't find space. Uruguay had few chances but capitalized on them. And what a crazy ending.
If Cavani is out next game injured I think they will lose to France. If not, I think it will be neck and neck.

Great stuff so far.

Damn some great games. And who would have thought all these 'good' teams would be out?

The left side of the bracket has all the 'power' teams and the right looked to be a cakewalk for Spain.. cray cray.

Loving this tourney.

Man Japan had Belgium but they pulled a Paul Walker. Those were some nice goals from the Japanese too. That Brazil/Mexico I was really looking forward to. The keeper for Mexico, Ojeda, was out of his fucking mind. Brazil really put together a nice game too. Many stretches of domination. They look the strongest to me this round with Uruguay though I missed Croatia and Denmark.

Colombia had England on the ropes, looked like they were going to pull the upset but blew it late in the shootout. Was still exciting to watch though

The second half of the Belgium vs Japan game might have been the most entertaining half all cup. And the last goal was insane. It reminded me of the USA goal vs Algeria. Both from goalie to player running up the field to goal within 10 seconds.

Worth a read. I had no idea about all this behind the scene crazy with the AFA. Makes a lot more sense about their insane player selection over the past decade.

Lots of beef in that game. Really chippy and intense. Tough way to lose. I had taped the game and avoided social media all day to not spoil it. Got to the gym parking lot during the game and I heard one of the bars next door yelling so put on my headphones to tune out anything. Then inside the gym they were watching it in front of one of the lat pull machines so detour ESPN texted me but didn't read it and finally got to see it at home. Worth it.

^the good thing was I was able to fast forward the breaks for fouls, subs, etc. It did wind down the tension for PK's since I could FF between attempts but fuck it.

England has persevered, but they shall lose to Crotia

Belgium vs France should be awesome. My pick is Belgium/France winner to win it all. England hasn't choked yet but they will... they will... they must.
