What's a good site to get a good idea on the World Cup teams and players? I need to get ready for next month. I love playing soccer but I barely have time to keep up with sports news in general let alone soccer.

ESPN.com has got some in depth information. That is where I got pool or standings info for the last World Cup.

Time to start transitioning out of the World Cup by Monday I don't have cable so watching MLS will be an illegal task or I have to find a local spot. What's up with the other leagues La Liga, Bundesliga, etc?

I can't watch MLS. Maybe it is just me but it is just too 'amateur' compared to La Liga, Premier League, etc... especially after watching the World Cup.
The Premier League starts back up mid August, so only a month of no soccer!

I agree. If USA soccer is the elite of MLS, then MLS must not be very pretty lol. How do you pick which leagues to watch or do you follow just certain teams from each league? Flood me!!!!

Me personally, I follow Chelsea in the Premier League so I watch every one of their games. And it is pretty easy because 90% of them are on NBCSN. But I also watch other Premier League games, especially if big teams like ManU or Arsenal are playing.
If I have the channel, I might watch a Bundesliga or La Liga game but I can't really find much of them on TV. If you have the BEIN channel then you will get more European league games. I don't have that channel anymore so I can really only watch the Premier League.
-The Scottish league is a pathetic joke. Celtic is basically the only team in the league.
-The Italian Serie A, although they have several good teams, is just SO BORING to watch. Good if you want to nap.
-The French Ligue 1 is also pretty boring but teams like PSG and Monaco are fun to watch since they have big players such as Ibrahimovic playing, so you know you'll see some goals.
-The Spanish Liga is pretty entertaining. I will definitely watch a Real Madrid or Barcelona game if I can find it.
-The German Bundesliga is getting back to where it used to be, but really it is just like the Spanish Liga in that 2-3 teams dominate the league and the others are so-so.
-The Premier League is the most entertaining by far imo.
My recommendation is to watch Premier League games and try to catch a few La Liga games when some of the big boys play.

I ended up getting a pair of Adidas Team Mundials. Tried on some Nike Genio Tiempos but the Adidas were so much more comfy and they gripped great on wet turf. I have to get used to less ankle support vs my cross trainers. I tend to cut pretty hard when I mark these little fast fucks. First time I cut I was like whooooaa. Great to get traction.

I had Olympiakos vs. Liverpool penciled this weekend in Chicago. My sister in law is being Christened the day before, plus work on Sunday morning. Ugh! It`s 5 at night and have Mon. off. Maybe just maybe.

Just saw the roster that Inter will be bringing over. Meh, I think I'll skip these friendly matches.

The bigger teams usually don't bring a full roster, usually the bigger guns from the teams get a break and don't have to come. I would expect that to be the case this year as well, especially after the World Cup.
The team I really want to watch is Real Madrid but I expected them to not bring some of their best players. I just found this is the squad they will be bringing:
SQUAD:
Goalkeepers: Diego López, Jesús and Pacheco.
Defenders: Pepe, Carvajal, Coentrão, Arbeloa, Nacho, D. Llorente and Derik.
Midfielders: Bale, Xabi Alonso, Isco, Illarra, M. Llorente, Medrán, Lucas and Mascarell.
Forwards: Sobrino and De Tomás.
Only person I'd like to see play is Bale. But since it's a friendly me might even play just a half. Sucks.

I've been to a couple of these Inter friendlies in the past, but this year seems more disappointing. As you said, too close to the World Cup, so most of the stars are absent. But the ticket prices don't justify the people being brought over. I understand the promoter has to make a profit and pay the clubs. But I'd rather save some money and go to a real match in Milan.

I'm just gonna sit at home and have some beers and flip through the games
I looked at all the rosters of the big teams coming over and overall it's the same across the board with most teams only bringing bench players / second teamers. Especially Man City - they brought nobody lol.
However, ManU brought a few starters, and Liverpool pretty much brought their whole first team... so they might be fun to watch, although I hate both of those teams.

Jesus Navas is here at least. He showed what class is today.
AS Roma also brought the full squad. They were exciting to watch last year, and Totti is one of my favorites. I'm going to watch them play Inter Milan in Philly in a couple weeks

That'll make some people think twice about changing nationalities so they can play on the national team or to play for a club.

Record crowd in Ann Arbor sees Man United top Real Madrid
ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Manchester United thrilled a record crowd with a brilliant opening goal — and even Cristiano Ronaldo's unexpected entrance proved futile for Real Madrid.
Ashley Young scored twice in the first half, and United beat Madrid 3-1 on Saturday in front of 109,318 fans at Michigan Stadium. It was the largest crowd to see a soccer game in the United States, breaking the mark of 101,799 set at the Rose Bowl for the 1984 Olympic final.....
