Great game Bayern vs Real Madrid.
I think the final will be a cracker! The atmosphere will be electric with Bayern's home fans there. And I think it will be a very evenly matched game. Chelsea missing 4 starters (I wouldn't really count Miereles though cus he sucks) through suspension and Bayern missing 3 starters through suspension.

They'll be just as strong as ever next season.
I have no worries about their supremacy continuing.
The only way to beat them currently is to sit back and pray for counters.. They will find an antidote soon enough. Muhwahahaha

I'm as dumb as a bag of hammers when it comes to this sport.
Manchester United, Man City, Real Madrid... is it like pro football (American) in various cities?
And how does World Cup come into play? Are players recruited from their leagues to play for their country?
Sorry for the questions... hockey and soccer will never make it pass the Mason-Dixon line.
Next question: what are the rules of Cricket? Google, I know.

Oh man that could take hours to explain...
Yes it is like pro football in various cities, per country.
Let's take England for example.
There is the Premier League which are the best teams (like the MLB)
Then there are many leagues below that: English Championship (like AAA baseball), English League One (Like AA baseball) and so on except the teams for the most part aren't related (whereas some AAA and AA teams are related farm system teams of the upper level teams). Also, there could be 4 or 5 teams from one city in the same league (there are 5 teams from London in the Premier League, but London is a huge city...)
It is pretty much like that in all countries with soccer. One difference with those soccer leagues that pro sports in America don't have is that the bottom 2 or 3 teams in each league move down a division and the top 2 or 3 teams (other than the top league) move up a division after every season (ie: the Houston Astros and Minnesota Twins move down to AAA for being the worst and the top 2 AAA teams move to the MLB).
Again staying in England, unlike in America, there are also several tournaments where teams can win very prestigious trophies. For instance in England there is the FA Cup tournament which includes all leagues of English soccer (ie: a tournament where all MLB teams and AAA teams and AA teams etc would play in, and that is during the regular baseball season in between regular games) that can all play against one another until there is a winner.
Then moving on to Europe as a whole (other continents have the same kind of tournament as well), there is the Champions League tournament. The Champions League is where the top 1, 2, 3 or 4 teams from each country's top league battle it out, so here is where Real Madrid from Spain could face Manchester United from England and Bayern Munich from Germany could face Milan from Italy etc. This is where Chelsea from England will beat Bayern Munich from Germany in 3 weekends
Europe really is the place where you will see the best players in the world because those teams have the most money and they are the most competitive leagues in the world. Real Madrid for instance has players from Spain, Portugal, Germany, Argentina, Brazil, France, etc. When the World Cup comes along (actually they start qualifying games about 2 years before the Cup because 200 countries will qualify and only 32 will make it), each country plucks their best players from around the world and they play on their national team.
I think that is a short summary of it..

I don't watch soccer, but I will say that, in general, they are the most conditioned athletes around. Very, very resilient.
We had our soccer team run with the cross-country team. We had them do 26 miles with a 10 minute break at 13 miles. The first leg the cross-country team came in ahead. The second leg, the cross country team was almost 5 minutes behind.

I'd agree. Some players cover on average about 7-8 miles per game, and I'd say about 1/8 of that is sprinting.
I don't think many people know the rules of cricket. I do know that the games can take days to finish though.

Lescott would surely have been kicked out of Manchester if they hadn't won.
The most impressive player of the season for me was Yaya Toure. I think he's the best box to box midfielder currently playing. Though it was an uneven match up, he destroyed Ji Sung Park a few games ago

As a neutral fan, I REALLY want Chelsea to win this time.
It's the last chance for the Mourinho era team from 04-05 and probably the last season where Cech-Terry-Lampard-Drogba will play a major role in the side.
With that being sad though, I think Bayern Munich has a better chance because of Ribery+Robben. But they're a younger team so they can wait till next year

I also have watched every game so far.
Several things I have seen:
-Czechs might not win a game with that horrid defence
-Russia look strong
-Denmark COULD get out of this group with Germany
-Netherlands wasted so many opportunities. If they lose their next one vs Germany, bye bye.
-I actually thought both Germany and Portugal looked good. I expected a draw until that late goal
-Italy played very well against Spain. Spain didn't look good enough to win the tourney with that formation and that play. Torres still can't hit the broad side of a barn. They will need to fix some things to win this. Italy on the other hand handled Spain very well and even had plenty of opportunities themselves such as...
Literally Bolatelli... WTF were you doing?!
I'm looking to see what France does today to see how far they can progress.
