Post Pacquiao-Mayweather agree to terms on fight

From CNNSI...

Representatives for Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather have agreed to terms on a megafight, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told SI.com on Wednesday. The deal still needs to be approved by Mayweather.

Arum did not disclose terms of the deal, which is expected to be a 50-50 split and include some form of drug testing. The fight is scheduled for Nov. 13 at a location to be determined. Las Vegas and Dallas are considered the favorites to land the fight.

Arum told SI.com that Mayweather has until mid-July to make a decision.

"This really depends, as I see it, on whether Mayweather wants to fight [Pacquiao]" Arum said. "By mid-July, he's either in or out. We're not going to wait forever. We're going to have a fight on Nov. 13 and we would love it to be Mayweather."

Arum said that if Mayweather passed on the fight, they could still make a deal under the negotiated terms next year.

"Nobody is under any obligation to fight this year," Arum said. "He may need more time. When he is ready, we are prepared to do the fight."

Possible alternative opponents for Pacquiao are Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito.

I don't really have much to say about any of this except for the fact that I am not surprised at all. I am a fan of both Mayweather and Pac, and think they are both phenomenal BOXERS with their own styles. However, after witnessing the first fight fall thru, and now him not responding to the new terms, I believe Floyd is scared that he will lose to Pac. And I, along with [I think] many others, believe Floyd will lose.

As far as replacement BOXERS, why would anybody want to see Cotto get his ass handed to him again? That's just a pointless fight...

And MARGARITO!?!? Are you f'in serious??? That cheating piece of shit should have been immediately banned from the frigin sport after he got the shit beat out of him by Mosley. He's a joke, he can't win a fight unless he has cement and/or wooden blocks in his wraps. They should put his ass in a cage and let a real fighter beat the hell out of him.

I highly doubt this will fight will happen this year. 50/50 split while I think is more than fair is not Mayweather's style. I see another warm up fight for Mayweather then he will ask for the favorable split.

This is just not happening. Funny even when I was dead broke I tried my best to make my payments and not affect my credit. You hear about celebs not paying up all the time.

hopefully he'll get community service or some lesser charge and the fight with Manny will push through. But from the looks of it, it seems like the chances are very very slim.

Does Holyfield need to the money? I think not. But he continues to box, despite his critics.
when Lewis retire, he was still in his prime. He did won the early rounds against Vitaly, but as the rounds goes on... Lewis stayed the same and Vitaly got better. Good thing for Lewis Vitaly had a bad cut over his eyes, cause the last few rounds before the doctor stop the fight, Vitaly was whooping Lewis ass. Lewis didnt want to face Vitaly after that, and he certainly didnt want to face Vitaly brother Wladimir. So he retired, but he had a great career and will go down as one of the top 10 best heavyweights ever.

thats how I saw it too...although I think Vitaly is a better fighter than Wladimir. I think the fans also got cheated that the fight ended the way it ended, I was hoping there would be a rematch but it never happened.

I think Vitali is Better then Wladimir too, and alittle more powerful, but not by a whole lot. Everyone wanted to see that rematch, and to my surprise Lewis retired when he's still at his prime. I honestly think that hes afraid to fight Vitali again.

You think it will go 10 rounds? IDK with all this crap about Manny's preparation and having to attend to all his political duties, I still see him being dominant next weekend. I'd be stoked if it went 10 rounds, just not some boring ass bout like Clottey. I predict an earlier punishing KO ala Hatton.

Funny you mention Clottey. Clottey was known as a tough fighter that is fearless and will go toe to toe with anyone. He went toe to toe with Cotto and lost the fight with a decision. Then Clottey tasted Pacquiao power and endless assaults, Clottey got scared and cover up most of the fight and wouldnt dare to go toe to toe with Manny for the rest of the fight. I will say that the fight will end early if Margarito stands toe to toe with Pacquiao. But I think he will be moving backwards alot, and I think Margarito is a tough fighter, alot of people dont give him that credit.

LOL!!!!!! ...first steroids, then he wants more money, now this?!!! HHAAHAHAHA
Mayweather can fool alot of people into believing thats hes pound for pound the greatest boxer alive, but for all of us real boxing fan, He's no more greater then a Pernel whitaker , not even as great as a sugar Ray Leonard.

Mayweather shoudlnt even be undefeated, he should of lost to Jose Castillo, but the fight was rigged.

You think Paquiao was the only guy Mayweather has ran away from? Nope. Mayweather turn down a fight with Margarito, and ducked Cotto

I also think it might end early although I doubt Pacquiao will go toe-to-toe with Marga. It might be like when Pacquiao fought De La Hoya with a result ending like the David Diaz fight.

I gave all of the rounds to Paquiao. He won every round, sure there were a few short moments where Margarito landed good clean shots when Manny was at the ropes, But every time when Margarito was trying to hurt Manny, Manny come back with a more brutal assault. Letting everyone knows whos da man. Manny admits in one mid rounds, Margarito hurted him in the body, But being a real competitor Manny is, He comes back and show Margarito who he's dealing with. Infact , Manny broke his fist from hitting Margarito soo much in the fight.

Oh by the way, Now Manny has won a champion title in 8 different weight division.
Oscar De La hoya won championships in 6 different weight class division.
And the 3rd guy, Mayweather has won championship in 5 different weight classes. Just want to throw the facts out there.
