OK. This was when I was n my very early 20s. I used to bowl once a month with 3 real good friends.. We would split up in 2 teams and bowl 2 games. Highest combined score wins and loser pays for dinner. Well, I was poor and hated losing as it was a big hit to have to pay for dinner for someone else. That was how poor I was..

Anyhoo. Buddy on the opposing team bowls a 220. I was bummed as I figured I'd be on the losing team and buying dinner. Well, from 220, his next game was a 98. It was so funny and they lost dinner to my team. It has now been many moons since and he still has not lived down his 98 game.

The sick thing was, it was in the 10th, then I strike in the 12th to win my match point by one!!! (I opened 8th and 9th, too). And our anchor choked again, missed a ten pin in the 10th in the first game, we lost by 6, and then again in the 3rd game, anchor opponent split and opens and our guy misses ANOTHER 10 pin, we lost by 6. Also our leadoff throws spare...1, in the 10th, and the 2nd person missed a 10 pin. I realize it's a team game and everyone missed spares, but you gotta get that 10 pin if you're a 200 average.

All around fail, we lose 2 games, and still take 19 of 28. Go figure.

^Nice Rounder! That's awesome man! I've never picked up the greek church, but I have picked up the big four and the 6-7-10 a few times.

I bowled like shit last night. 224 (missed a 2 pin in the 10th-lost the game by 9), 208 (won the game by 121), 174 (lost by 145). So 606 total, with a 214 average that is slowly slipping away.

I kept throwing the ball WAY too fast last night, resulting in hitting the pocket very very light and leaving a bunch of shit on the left side of the lane. I only left 3 ten pins all night, which is rare for me.

Good story!

A few friends and I used to do that as well. We would bowl 3 games and add up the totals.

I got free Bojangles quite often because of them

lets call it "competitive casual" bowling.

we dont sign up for the local leagues but we actually do compete between 10-20 people everytime we go..

i dont have enough time to fufill league responsibilities..

so we go when we have the chance..

i just started my spin recently and unfortunately its a about a 50% chance i gutter when i do it.. pretty frustrating lol

I missed bowling this past wednesday because of the concert I went to. I did pre-bowl but for some reason they lost my score sheet and used my average -10. I was told we lost the first and won the rest, 5 points total. Even if my pre-bowl scores were there we still would have lost the first game so I'm not bothered by it so much. Anywho we are now in 2nd place behind the team that everyone hates..

Yea threw it a little slow. Also got distracted by the guy 2 lanes over (didn't give courtesy, I stepped off)... oh well I don't get a ring for throwing it in practice.

Hey guys, forgot to post up on here but 2 weeks ago I shot a 255! That is my highest ever! Thats probably your guys' ave too. haha. The funny thing is that we didn't even win 1 game. hahaha. The other team was pretty good and my teammates weren't even hitting their ave's and 1 didn't show up but it's all good. Just there to have fun. My ave is now a 171.

We all have been a little girl about bowling before, I guarantee it.

But congrats on your high score! That's awesome. Just don't expect yourself to always bowl that high or you'll just end up getting pissed off. I'll shoot a 279 and expect myself to do it again. When I don't, I get frustrated, and end up shooting a 180.

Bowled like shit last night. 173-203-170. Couldn't trip the 10 and couldn't pick it up, and there was so much oil on the lane. Teammate shot a lot 700 he had 249-247 then threw 2 or 3 splits. Kinda glad tho he didn't beat my series. Is that mean? LOL.

We split points 5 to 6. Not the worst thing. Still in first place.

I really hurt my hip badly, no clue how. Maybe bowling, maybe shoveling snow, but I couldn't put any weight on my right leg when I got home last night without a lot of pain.

Hey Rockstar, just keep on bowling!!! You will start developing techniques as you go along and you'll want to keep bowling all the time.

I remember back when I just started bowling I was just excited to get over 100. Then when I did, I was like "HELLL YESSS" Telling everyone how good it felt, like I won a trophy or something. hahaha.

Almost 600! Not all that bad, but then again frustrating compared to your other weeks.

I had a guy next to me bowl a 822 last night (244, 298, 280). He came in a little high on the 12th shot that 2nd game and left the 6-10.

That sounds like a few years ago. The revs on the ball didn't match the ball speed, so I always came in light.

And I love how everybody thinks they have great form and such until they see a video of themselves bowling. I saw a video of me and I denied that it was me




And last night really pissed me off. I shot 624 (190, 178, 256). How about that for some consistency? First game I had two really stupid opens, chopped the 2-5 off of the 2-4-5 and missed a damn 10 pin. Second game I couldn't strike to save my life. I missed another 10 pin and also missed a 7 pin. Third game I started with a 10-pin spare then went 8 in a row, setting myself up for a 290 game. Of course on the 10th ball I come in light, leaving a 10-pin, and then I miss it.

Fucking bowling. Gah

Tell her to keep her hips and shoulders parallel. Also when she throws the ball, bring it straight back and straight out. See how her arm is pushing out from her body to the right? That's where she's sending the ball. Also her feet play a role in where the ball goes. Her left foot is pointing right, and as you see, that's where the ball is going. And ouch, it looks like she's about to break her right ankle

But hey, at least she enjoys it! Practice makes perfect! Props to her for not using the bumpers and also wearing those highlighter shoes

And I can't wait to go bowling and be able to have a beer. Two days

Oof, I went terribaddie-status today. 125 average. Shitty by my impossible standards, but I guess I did okay for someone "starting over". It's also been about 9 months since I last bowled.

What did you struggle with the most? First ball or spare shooting? I know a bunch of people that throw a great strike ball but can't spare for shit.
