Those with BBK's please advise

I bought some Rotora's and Hawk Hps pads from you awhile back but it didn't stop that shimmy when braking at speeds of 50+.

Those with bbk's please share your experiences.

Well maybe you have something bent in your suspension or a caliper needs to be rebuilt. Maybe a piston is sticking. I would try re-bedding the pads again too.

A BBK disc is pretty difficult to warp if you chose to go that route. However I would oversee your current setup to see if something else is amiss.

Are the rear rotora BBK for the 6mt TL rotors the same thickness as OE? Also what's the lead time for Black?

No I have sold it that way before. It should be fine. I don't know for certain but I am pretty sure. I can send you a wheel fitment table. Just email me asking me for it at sales@excelerateperformance.com

No it is thicker and wider in diameter. It takes about 30 days to do a customer color and it costs $300 extra. Red and sky blue metallic are the standard colors.

Is this possible yet? To use 2pc rotors on 1pc kit? Thanks

So you are looking for the part #'s for the BBK or for the replacement discs for the BBK?

I was looking for the replacement part number of the rotor for BBK because I thought i was purchasing a used BBK caliper kit. Made a mistake because the kit wasn't a BBK but just a 4 piston OEM replacement. Thanks for trying to help though.

You cannot upgrade to the 2 pc discs yet but ROTORA will offer that on new BBK's eventually. It won't be an option for older BBK's. Sorry.

How much are the replacement rotors for an 03 CL-S BBK? How long are they good for? Deciding if I should replace my rotors while doing the pads. I have 30k on my 1st-time rotors and pads.

Drilled/slotted or slotted? If the slots have disappeared then the rotor has reached its min thickness. That is your best indication. Usually you can get 2 sets of pads out of each rotor, so usually about 40-50k.

Are the custom colors powder coated? I doubt they would be anything else, but just wanna make sure.
If I was to get the gold color, can the letters come in black or anything else? I think gold and white would look kinda dull.

Bump...

I have a 07 TL... Is it possible just to do a BBK upgrade upfront and keep the stock brakes in the back? Or would that be a problem?

Do you have a base TL, AT or MT?

Yes it is fine to do a front BBK only if you get a balanced kit like ROTORA and STOPTECH offer.

Meaning the kit is set up properly for your vehicle. If you buy a no name kit it can offset the brake balance. That isn't the case with ROTORA and STOPTECH; both those companies sell balanced brake kits.

So yes the BBK will work just fine on your car. The 1 pc 13" 4 piston kit is a great bang for the buck; if you have the funds upgrade to the 2 pc setup.

Since you carry both the wilwood and the rotora BBKs for CLs, I'm just curious to see how you think they compare? Seems intriguing that the wilwood bbk comes with a 2-piece rotor for the same price as rotora's 1-piece. Does that mean quality-wise, rotora makes a better product? (I know that the rotora has had an application for our cars for a lot longer)

The Wilwood kit is really not a Wilwood kit; it just uses Wilwood calipers. IMO the ROTORA kit is a better kit b/c it uses higher quality components and it is actually designed for the vehicle. The Wilwood kit really is based off another vehicle. It's a great kit for the price but I like the ROTORA product better and it has much better wheel clearance.

Is the Wilwood wheel clearance the same or worse than the stock 6mt/type-s brembos?

Worse, the Wilwood kit requires a lot of clearance.
