Exclamation Honest question: why do parking lot door dings feel worse than accidents?

We review thousands of driving clips, and here's something interesting:
Actual accidents usually come with footage, context, and resolution. You can see what happened, who was involved, and what led up to it. Parking lot door dings are the opposite.

Most of the time, there's:
No clip.
No witness.
No note.
No clear moment where it happened.

Just a "before" and an "after." And despite being far less severe than accidents, these anonymous little dents seem to frustrate drivers more. We see it constantly in comments and submissions.
From your perspective, why do you think that is?If you had to pick one main reason, which feels closest?

A. No accountability.
There's damage, but no one to take responsibility — and no closure.
B. It's not "claim-worthy".
Too small for insurance, but too visible to forget.
C. It feels preventable Accidents happen.
Door dings feel careless.
D. It's the mystery that's frustrating.
Not knowing when or how it happened makes it worse than the damage itself.
E. Something else — curious to hear your take.

We'd love to hear from anyone who's actually caught — or nearly caught — a door ding on camera.Parking lot dings seem especially tricky since, in most cases, there's no video, no witnesses, no note, and no clear timeline — just a dent you discover after the fact.

That's why more drivers have been looking into dash cams with parking mode, like those from VANTRUE, as a way to at least have some visibility when the car is unattended.
