Question: My 02 TL-P's tire, wheel, shocks etc... everything is stock, is there any disadvantages to install this Lowering Springs to it?

No, no disadvantage. The ride will be slightly firmer but the handling will improve significantly. If your shocks have over 50k on them you might want to consider replacing them at the same time.

Yes, all my shocks are over 50k. If installing this Lowering springs plus all new shocks, is that equal to a set of coilover (TEIN Basic coilovers) or Tokico lowering kits (shocks and spring)??? If that's the case, I can get the kit from you instead of buy them separately at different place. Please advice. Thx!!

Well TEIN Basics will give you 4 shocks/struts and 4 springs. The cost of the coilovers is a little more than a spring/shock combo. I can do the H&R springs and the Tokico HP shocks for $550 shipped. The coilovers are more than that but you have to PM me for pricing on those.

The difference is spring rates and the drop. Comptech uses Eibach now for their springs so you are better off just buying H&R or Eibach.

I currently have Aspec suspension on my 2004 TL, are both performance and sport compatible? I have about 33k miles on them. I would like to get more of a drop.

Thanks.

I believe the A-spec only changes the spring rate and the valving on the shock. It doesn't change the actual shape of the spring. I haven't tested it but I am pretty sure that is the case. So then yes it would work.

I have an 04 TL auto. If I go with the H&R springs and the Tokico HP shocks combo what else would I need to have them installed or is it a direct swap? Oh and how big of a drop is it? I don't want to slam the car. 1 inch drop from stock would be sufficient (just like the a-spec suspension)

Tokico hasn't released shocks for the 04+ TL. The lowering amount is in the first post for each vehicle.

KONI is the only company thus far that I know makes shocks. They are kind of pricey. $600+

Crap! That's gonna set me back. I only have 1K budget to get the shocks / springs replaced and the front and back rotors done at the same time. I was actually thinking of bringing the car to you to perform all these but I guess I'll wait and pool more cash. Thanks for the quick response.

How many miles on the shocks? It isn't necessary to do the shocks when lowering the car but it is a good idea, esp if you have over 40-50k on the shocks.

I have 55K + on the car and I think it's prudent to change the shocks too. I thought since the shocks and springs are going to be replaced I might as well replace the rotors and pads at that point. I'm already experiencing vibration at the wheels on high speed.

I'll call you sometime when I get the cash handy. I don't want to spend money using the credit card or else my wife will change the locks on the front door and I'll be sleeping in the car

It would be wise to change the shocks then too.

Sleeping in the car for a night will be worth it.

LOL specially with the new springs and shocks at that point. I'll give you a ring as soon as I have the cash stashed.

Sorry to bring back an old thread but I wanted to know if you can tell me what a set of H&R OE Sport springs would go for on a 2000 TL. The thread's pretty old so I figured pricing would be different now. Let me know, thanks.

What is the install like on this? Is this something I could tackle myself in my garage or do I need a lift and some special tools? Not looking to spend more than a few hours on a project at this point.

It takes about 3-4 hours to install springs but if you have never done it before it's nothing something you should try by yourself. There are DIY's online.

That hasn't been confirmed yet. I'm certain H&R and other companies will release springs but as of now nothing has been released yet.

I have a 2003 acura cl type s. What is the best lowering option, not too low because my streets are garbage but enough to make it look good on 18 X 8 wheels. Car has 100k miles on it, old shocks. What to you recommend and what would it cost to ship to jersey.

Well how much of a drop are you looking for? H&R Sports lower the car about 1.75" F and 1.5" R and then we can combine those with TOKICO HP shocks. That setup would be about $540 shipped
