This may be a stupid question but will these cats fit the stock exhaust and would that be advisable in terms of performance? also if you were to add these to a catback exhaust would they make the car a lot louder?

The cats are a direct bolt on and they give you about 20whp and 14 ft/lbs of tq The cats will make the exhaust slightly louder due to the increased flow of exhaust, but nothing substantial.

3-4 hours to install. I charge $200 at my shop. You don't have to remove the exhaust. The price is $1115 shipped to the continental 48 United States and no Paypal fees.

Can you give us a brief how to description of the install procedure, I know a local shop has just installed a set but they dropped the subframe and removed an axle to do it, I know there is a better way.

Ouch, sounds like a pain in the ass. I am interested in the cats also but I am interested in what is involved when installing them.

If you are handy with tools it is something you could do yourself. It was really hard, you ust have to take alot apart. To do this install, you will need to put it up on jackstands, then

1)Remove all the plastic shrouding under the hood, the strut bar and the engine cover.

2) You will need to remove the passenger side electric fan. They are sepereate so one can be removed with out the other having to come out.

3) The Cruise Control Module on the passenger side of the motor will need to be unbolted and just moved out over the motor. (This will free up room to bring the cat up through the engine bay.

4) Remove the Plastic under carrage cover that runs under the drivers side of the car.

5) You can then remove the mid pipe, this is the pipe that connects the front cats to the back cat.

6) Then the rear cat can be removed.

7) You will need to unplug the O2 sensor and pull the harness loose from the car, do not try to remove it from the cat while still in the car.

8) You can then remove the front cat.

9) Now on the rear, you will want to remove the heat shielding from the cat before unbolting it from the head.

10) Once shroud is removed you can unbolt it. You will want to pull it up and out of the top of the engine.

To put back together, do it all in reverse order. This is the quick and easy steps. Its really not that bad, and with minor install ability, you should be able to do this.

The only thing I would add to this is I installed the Rear Cat by bringing it up from under the car. I couldn't get it lined up from bringing it in up top. I had to remove the axcel sheild to get it in from the bottom. I got it lined up and put on the nuts on but before I tighten them up I had to put the sheild back on. Other than that it went pretty well.

I did take a couple of shots and they can be found here:

Firstly, that is one dyno. There have been many more with more whp gains. Secondly it was 13.5 whp.

That is one dyno? What does it matter?
That dyno is from the product's manufacture.

You should advertise truthful numbers under your thread for automatics.

To be honest I didn't realize E-Shift put up a dyno with such differences between teh A/T and M/T. But here is a dyno of an A/T TL before and after Pro Cats - 18whp:

No it will not throw a CEL and the cats are designed to pass emissions. However if you are in CA you may not pass the visual inspection.

Has anyone tried installing these Hi-Flo Cats in this configuration....

2x E-Shift cats bolted to engine
1x test pipe bolted to middle section of pipe

Or is it better to stay with the original configuration of 3x E-Shift Cats because of back presssure problems?

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks!

fitting on a TL-S ? is it worth it? since the TL-S are only 600 cell/inch CATS, TL-P is like 1000, or 1200...

So, if you have an automatic TL-S, you may only see like 6~7 whp gain?

yeah....you can be right. it might be worthless on TL-S. that's why i'm not buying it untill i see the dyno chart. i think Excelerate should post it.

If I had it I would post it, but as I have stated I have sold two sets to TL-S customers. The local customer said he felt the gains but he didn't dyno it so I couldn't tell you what the exact hp #'s are b/c I don't have them. If you would like to be the tester and you get a pre and post dyno I will refund you $100 for the dyno.
