For people from Arizona, Question about speed cameras

Ok, so I'm pretty new to this forum maybe you'll be able to help me. I have a question for people from Arizona. I live in Albuquerque and I recently bought my TL from a dealer in Scottsdale and I just got a ticked in mail from when I was driving back.
So my question is, are there any ways to get out of the speed camera ticket?

P.S $197 for going 57 in 45 zone is kinda ridiculous if you ask me

You have a couple of options (note, I am not a lawyer and I'm not hadning out legal advice):

1 - Pay it and forget about it (I did this on one from Tempe);
2 - Try to do the online "traffic school" (it was more expensive than the ticket in my case);
3 - Ignore it on the theory that "by mail" is not a proper service under the law. I hear about a lot of people doing this one, but there's a risk. Technically, the they could issue a warrant after a while. Given that you're out of state, that seems unlikely.

NM and AZ DMV have a system in place, in addition to other states, regarding traffic violations.
AZ may not send the cops to your house but, when you renew your license, register a new car or something along those lines. A notation will be on file according to your license plate /or/ drivers ID #.

p.s...does the picture clearly show your plate # ?

You could ignore it and always claim you never received it but like any ticket it just goes up with penalties. I know in California many people just pay parking tickets when they pay registration each year. I would just pay it and be done with it.

Suggestion - take that site with a bit of a grain of salt. That being said, I have had more than one police officer tell me I can safely ignore a camera ticket. I've never tried it, but FWIW, there you go.

I know, that was just one of the many that I have found

I'm considering it. I'm just going to wait till I get my title and I'll register the car in my state and then I will decide

And yes it does show my plate clearly

Red Flex is a Scam, Ignore it. I've tossed three of them in the garbage while they used to have them posted all over town.

Especially if you live out of state.

I know a lot of people dont pay them on the basis of the ticket not being properly served to the driver. Thats what Im probably gonna do too cuz I dont have $200 laying around for a ticket for 12 miles over posted speed.
Did you ever have anyone come to your house and trying to hand you a summon to court? Im curious cuz Redflex has its cameras in Albuquerque as well.

no, i just figured that I'd deal with it at that time if it happened. Everyone i know personally got RedFlex tickets, not a single one paid them, and none of them had a process server come to their house. I've heard rumors, but I can't imagine that those that did get served were any less than 5x's repeat offenders. I doubt that a 200 dollar ticket is worth paying a server for. hell.. they probably charge the state that much. but again, with you being in NM, and the camera being in AZ... throw it away. you'll be fine
