Parasurfer, I'm down in ILM quite a bit, the parental lives on Wrightsville. If you frequent any of the beach bars (Lagerheads, Kefi, Buddy's), you've probably met him. I'd definitely be down for a Wilmington Meet-Up. Perhaps September-October? Still have the beach weather without the beach crowds.

 

A Wilmington meet would be excellent-I was swimming in the ocean in Nov. last year. If it is at Stevenson Honda/acura there is a Chili's and a diner within walking distance. It is also next to a K-Mart.

 

congrats to UNC on winning their region. im pissed off that my work prohibited me from making it out to chapel hill to see my JMU team play.

 

I do none of the beach bars. They tend to be slightly snootie for my tastes and i dont drink anyway haha. They do not play the music I listen to. Neither do the bars downtown for that matter. That said I'll def go when and if I can get enough interest to have a small meet. 2 buddies DJ at 2 clubs downtown (Reel Cafe & The Rox). The only club i would frequent at the Beaches was Fibber's haha.

so gang, what are the feelings on a gathering sometime over the next few weeks?? how are people's schedules looking on sundays? I am off sundays so that works for me... otherwise friday evenings are good as well, but I am assuming the weekend will be better for most of you... after being back in NJ for the past week, and actually having a decent social life there for a few days it'd be cool to meet more people around the area so i am down whenever if anybody else is.

 

im down for a gathering. sundays i usually work but if i have a week or two notice i can usually get it off without any problems.

Well tyler, looks like the consensus is sunday or friday... Just get the day off. Its very easy to do. Hell, if youre worried about not making money I will give you my saturday night shift that week if you wanted it. it seems like friday could work out too though so how about we take a little vote.

How does 2 weeks from now sound? (since I know the national meet is this weekend)
Either friday the 17th, or sunday the 19th? Just post a yes or no for each day, and whichever day can get the largest turnout we will do that.

sorry to hear youre going back to nj that week... i just got back a few days ago actually. for those of you who can make it, we will do it sunday.

Tyler, I know that is usually your day to work, so I have devised 1 of 2 plans to make sure youll be available. The first obvious one is to request the day off since they are usually pretty cool about that, and make sure they know that I cant work either lol.

The second is that if it is cool with everyone since it looks like we are all from Raleigh, we can meet at Brier Creek, and tyler you can stay off the clock since its so slow on sundays there say youre in the area and you will clock in if they need you. They always like saving on payroll anyway.

Brier Creek has plenty of parking, as well as plenty of spots to grab a drink and some food. Are there any objections to that being our meeting spot?

Hey, man. I am from Raleigh, but I'm up in Burlington quite often. A friend of mine lives there. I'll actually be there tomorrow night. Where about in Burlington do you live? I am not terribly familiar with the area, but my buddy went to Elon so his place is like 5 minutes from the campus.

I hear you man. Can't escape the family get togethers lol. No worries though, I am sure we will meet up fairly often since a lot of us are pretty local to each other, so next time def make it.
