So would I be correct to describe this as really a Raleigh based chat thread? Seems like most of you seem to be from around that area. Just wondering cause if so I will give it the appropriate thread title.

Ricer Sonic Meet

Does anyone around the Triangle ever go to these meets?

Every Friday starting at 7:30 pm there is a meet hosted by the NCSU Car club which is held at Sonic off of Jones Franklin and Western Blvd in the Harris teeter shopping center. They meet usually from 7-11 depending.

I went a couple weeks ago and saw some TSX and RSX up there, charged and N/A. Apparently, one owner had never seen a TL come to those meets.

I'm not sure much has changed. Recently, I've just visited the drive-through for a strawberry limeade.

I appreciate it! Natives are few and far between. How's the drive to Jersey? DC is usually as far as I drive North.

I personally enjoy the drive from NJ to NC more than the one from NC to NJ. When I stop at the Wawa in Fredricksburg, Va (when I am heading north I have all the traffic areas to look forward to-when heading south I am done. I usually travel on Sundays-leaving as the sun is starting to rise. I also have a ez-pass for the tolls. It takes about 9 hours (with the stop) to go about 635 miles. I have been doing this for a few years now so I am used to it. It could be a great, no accident, not too much traffic trip or it can be a nightmare. Just have to deal with it.

I hear ya. I get impatient. Especially with that traffic backup on I95 right outside DC that never seems to dissipate. Regardless, I'm thinking of going to some northern Atlantic meets from VA and up to NY/NJ in the future. Have any suggestions as to which meets are worth the drive?(Acura/Honda, other tuner meets, etc.)

I attend the VA meets whenever they are organized. I'll be going to the Great Falls meet in February. It will be my 3rd year in a row and I never plan on missing one.

Bumper Work in Triangle?

Does anyone from the Raleigh area know a good shop for bumper reconditioning? Got tagged in a parking lot at Cameron Village (3rd "incident" in as many months) and need to have my rear bumper fixed. Would rather not replace it ($Texas).

Thanks!

I've never really had reconditioning done, but Colors on Parade has been reliable on my cars and others...I tried my Dukes of Hazard hood slide on my girl's 4Runner and ended up butt-checking the quarter panel which dented it and scratched it up. They did a marvelous job removing the dent and scratches. Fair prices, great service.

Have you called all the other major paint shops like Coats, Peaches, or Maaco?

BTW - ($Texas). Nice wager French Stewart.

If you guys are ever traveling north on 95 and are stuck in traffic right before it opens up to 4 lanes, there is a beautiful shoulder lane to utilize. I used the right hand shoulder the other week when i was headed up to that area. I'm not sure how wide the left hand shoulder lane is, but if so then 5 lanes is greater than 3 lanes.

Been away from the board a while, spent the summer hiding from heat, learning better track techniques, daughter visiting for summer camp(s), etc. Next track visit in 2 weeks (three day event, four runs per day), so getting the car ready and getting rested and a bit more in shape. I surely hope we've seen the last of the 100+ weather for the year.

Ok peeps. Just want to give the local guys a heads up. I'm parting out my car and have a few things I would like to find a new home for. Head lights, tail lights, side marker lights, Sarona roof spoiler, Front camber adj arms, Custom D2/RideTech air suspension kit(Only one in the US for the TL). Hit me up if you are interested in any thing. I'll be posting a FS thread in the next 2 days once I can take pics and catalog everything

Greensboro here, checking in, wondering if anyone can recommend where I can get help putting on a set of rotors? Bought an Impact Screwdriver, and the screws that hold the rotor in place would not move. Help!
