I have a feeling picking my next vehicle addition is going to continue to take some serious time cause I can't for the life of me make up my mind what direction I want to go. It must have a good bit of space to travel with 4 dogs is the number one requirement cause it will be used for all of our travels both around town and long distance with the dogs. Number two is that it should be something ridiculous as that just makes it more fun. The list right now is long.
Porsche Cayenne GTS, BMW X5M, Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, Cadillac Vagon, Audi Q7 SLine, Ford Raptor, GMC Acadia Denali, Toyoto 4Runner TRD, and Audi Allroad. Those are the current possibilities. Some are not very ridiculous though. Still haven't made up my mind on the direction I want to go with either performance oriented or off road ready. It has made for some very fun research so far though.

Spacious. Economical. Fun.
Pick two
I think an Allroad would give you plenty of space while being somewhat economical compared to the other choices. I really like the 4Runner too but I'm a snob and like a bit of luxury.

But yes the Allroad definitely wins in the practicality area and APR just came out with a stage 2 flash for it.
It also has to be something Megan would be willing to drive. Which all of them so far she said she would except the Raptor. But the Raptor would give so much room.

So Eric I came across this picture and immediately thought of your old bike.

That's awesome! What happened to the "poneh bike"?

Kind of been lurking in the Charlotte thread for a while ( I live in the QC ) , and I definitely think you should try out the Grand Cherokee.

Also, I've decided that I'm going to buy an AP2 sometime next year as a secondary vehicle. Mitzi approves of the purchase too, so now it just comes down to saving and waiting for the right one

Yes they look great. I just wonder if I will be let down in the power and handling department from driving the IS-F.
If I go with something offroad I can't be let down cause it is not expected. Also I wonder if they really have more space that a sedan does. The dogs all ride in the backseat. I have a hammock setup attaches to the front seat headrests and then the back seat ones. Right now we have been borrowing the Tahoe after having 3 of them in the Lexus. They had so much more room.
Although still trying to talk myself out of the Raptor even though I think it is the best to travel in lol. Megan doesn't want to drive it and gas will suck.

Do you still have the TL?

What did everyone do for Memorial Day? I spent 2 solid days on the lake. Today felt like the worst Monday ever lol.
Instructor
I do! I haven't been very aggressive with selling it with being busy with school and whatnot but yep she's still here and still forsale lol
Yep thats me. I had it for sale last summer at a high price just to see what i could get for it and then it was off again till like January, I just haven't been super motivated and aggressive with selling it.

Are you enjoying it? I've only been to Cary two times since Christmas. I miss having everything so close but the traffic has gotten horrible. They continue to build without upgrading the roads.
Instructor
I just want something bigger like a truck or an SUV, so I don't have to worry so much about bending wheels and blowing tires. I've spent like $1000 on wheel repairs and tire blow outs that its just pushed me away from enjoying driving the car anymore. Worst decision I ever made was buying those damn 19"s; they look great but damn they suck. I really want a 05-08 4x4 Toyota 4runner or a 4x4 Nissan Titan that I can mod and play with

Go for the 4Runner. My (soon to be) father-in-law had a Titan and it was horrid. Probably one of the worst vehicles I've driven and experienced.
Instructor
Yikes really? Yeah i really want the 4runner but they're just so damn expensive! 100k miles and they're still $15k its insane. I feel bad selling my TL with 82,xxx on it to buy a more expensive car with 1xx,xxx on it.
Advanced
Don't be scared. My N180 4Runner has 257,xxx on it and it's running as strong as it ever did.

Definitely a really nice area. My first time really being here for more than when I just came that once for cars and coffee. I love how they have kept so many trees in the area. Really makes it nice.

Not trying to pick on you just it have never understood posts about how people can't avoid that stuff. I get it for like NYC but NC is not like that.
Swerve and avoid. I guess it is just a lifestyle decision and whether you want to deal with it or not.

Maybe it is just that I like the look and do the work that goes along with it but no offense I have never understood posts like this. I have had 2 sets of 19s on my TSX and I have 20s on my IS-F that I daily drive and I have only bet 1 lip and cracked 1 inner barrel in over 70k miles of driving with the 20s on the car. You just have to pay attention to the road which you should be doing anyways.

Me either...I had 19's on the TL with zero issues. I swerve and avoid even on stock wheels. My current ones have a 55 series tire, so I'm sure I could technically absorb a lot, but I see no point in intentionally hitting a crater.

I came really close to checking yours out but was turned off because of the mods ( wanted a clean slate ) . Regret not going up to see it now

Nothing special, but I'm off all week.

Damn man I wish you would have. A lot of the pictures I had on the CL ad were older and didn't really show how the mods and how well they complemented the car, I'm sure you would have loved it

I hated it and I'm glad he got rid of it.
I am enjoying it minus the condition of many of the roads. Damn pot holes everywhere.

It's a super nice area. Where specifically in Cary are you? My parents live near the YMCA off of Cary Parkway.

Yes, go 4 runner.
I was supposed to come to Raleigh in 2 weeks, but the wife is pregnant and due this week so I had to cancel.

Congrats with having the little one on the way! I'm not ready to have kids yet. I like being selfish

I know, I just checked it out again and it really looks good. I also didn't wanna drive 1.5 Hrs to Mooresville , which was a dumb reason. I ended up driving 2hrs to Greensboro and had the worst potential car buying experience ever with this nasty TL that looked good on paper. Eventually got a good deal from Drive Auto Sales in Matthews ( great guy, recommend him to anyone ) .
And you just can't go wrong with a Toyota. They don't break and they don't depreciate. We've been looking at older Tundras , and ones from 06 with 120k are still selling for 16k!

Now that's brutal. 30s are what most Dodge guys do on the rear if they have 22s, but that's on a 295. Somehow I get the feeling you didn't have 295s on the TSX LOL. I did see 30s on a 911 one time; they were truly rubber bands.
