GF - damn, that sucks. You need to move closer in. Of course, I say that, but there are deer all over where I live.

BC - no love for you, huh? I just PM'ed you...never been before, either, but I'm looking forward to it. Now if only I had good wheels and tires...

Got your PM's. Let me put together a "packet" of information and links I've gathered up. I'll send something in the next couple of days.

If there is much more interest, I might start a separate "meet" thread.

And don't worry, I'm on stock tires/wheels too.

^^^Yeah, but that's all you've ever known. I've been to the other side, and it's light years away. You have to hold back quite a bit with stock tires versus good ones...it really takes a lot of the fun out of driving. One day, though...

Sounds fun... don't know if the wife will let me though... hehe. Are you guys gonna go and enter?

Well, it's a month away, but at this point I am determined to be there. Hopefully nothing will get in the way.

I'll PM you a bunch of info. If a few of us sign up, we should get breakfast on the way over.

Tentative Dates?

How about April 12th or 19th?
I'll be able to make either of those dates.

Bearcat, I saw your post about a meet in May
https://acurazine.com/forums/acurazine-clubs-meets-15/huge-meet-charlotte-may-2008-a-386082/

Looks like it could be fun, but it may be a hodge podge of makes/models.

I'm always down, so the 12th/19th is fine with me. The thing in May could be fun, too. I agree with the poster's sentiments that a bunch of the same cars can get kind of boring (from the link in BC's thread). It would be nice to have a bunch of other cars to check out.

BC - breakfast? At what ungodly hour would you propose that occur? As much as I hate being up early, I might just suck this one up.

Regards another Charlotte Meet, the 12th works better for me.

Breakfast? I'd say around 7:30 or so. Get over to Continental ~8:15 - 8:30. There's a Bob Evan's on Arrowood, just east of I-77. It's about 5 minutes from Continental.

That'll leave time for final registration, tech inspection, finding our way, etc.

Getting up early for work: ; Getting up early to golf or autocross

Oh, this is near Arrowood? I probably shouldn't have read the details first thing this morning. The upside to its $hitty location is that it's near my house (I don't just work in the hood, I live there, too!).

But you're wrong about getting up early...there is NO good reason to do it.

Alrighty

Let's set the date to April 12th.
What will we do? Hopefully avoid pollen

(My parents are planning a visit soon, hopefully I can deter them from the meet weekend)

That works for me. Do you think that another thread should be started, because people might see Feb. 2nd in the title and bypass the thread.

Late afternoon and/or early evening on the 12th should be OK.

I've got to go to Greensboro in the morning and should be back around 2 or 3 PM.

Where??

Freedom Park and the parking deck at CP are centrally located.

Forgot to add this to the other post.

What time we thinking? Meeting between 3:00 & 4:00 or 5:00 & 6:00?

Should we have a mod update the title of this thread or start a new one?

CPCC - Central Piedmont Community College. The top level of their parking deck has a good view of downtown, but the park would be more scenic. I think we're looking at 5:00/6:00 since people have to work and/or do things during the day.

Oh well, I guess I will have to wait till the next meet. I have a show to do downtown that day that is going to consume the entire day and evening. What time does the park close? Maybe I can meet up after.

Not sure, but I would imagine we'll be around somewhere for a while since it's Saturday, spring time, etc. We'd have probably been hanging out until close to midnight the last time if the cops hadn't run us off.

TIME: The earlier the better, so I vote 4:00. If people can't make that time, they can be fashionably late

LOCATION: I think Freedom Park, it'll be Spring...spend it in a park!

DATE: I'm down for the 12th

I'll pm a mod to change the thread title

The thread title has been updated so hopefully a few more people will catch it.

If it doesn't have to be Acura specific I might see if a friend from work will want to come with his Evo.

It sounds like most are thinking around 5:00.

should we start a vote on location: either CPCC or FREEDOM PARK.

it seems as if April 12th and 5pm are going to stick.
