When are you planning to install the coilovers?
Intermediate
End of October is the plan when the wheels are refinished and I have a little more financial stability and can afford if something does go wrong.
It was an expensive weekend so I need to recover a little bit.
Today was great! I got 2 - 225/35R19 Continental DWS Tires with 1,000 Miles on them for $40. Guy turned them in at work and said he wanted to do 18's instead. The rear tires were 275's and I wasn't about to go super wide.
2 tires in near new condition for $40.... I'll consider that a Win.

I have never been able to acquire a tire for $20. That's a win.

Nice work Bryan. That's a pretty cool idea to shoot in the grass. I never would have thought of that.

Went to harris teeter and bought 18lbs of Penguin Brand dry ice at 99cents per lb. It comes in blocks so I just laid the bags onto the sound deadening and start mashing it with a hammer into smaller bits. The dry ice method is definitely the way to go. You can also hammer the sound deadening to death and it will break apart. It's very liberating. There are still small chunks of it here and there most of it has been extracted. I figured out why they might have named it 'Penguin Brand'...it made a penguin noise at one point while it was sublimating.

I would get the M3 all day but that's just me. Either one will be awesome though.
Whats up with RDX owners?

The LS is a perfect daily; no sense having two dailies. Get the M3.

M3.
While I'm sure the maintenance on a M3 won't be cheap, it'll most likely be better than replacing the LS460 UCAs every 60k miles at $4k and the brake actuator, costing $3k. Also, the cylinder heads are known to fail and need replacing. Not sure what the cost, but not cheap. Plus, the pre-MMC LS460 never did much for me.

So didn't make it to the fitment meet. Been busy with my job and all.
Finally got some new yokohama tires for the car and a alignment.
In case you missed the update, here are some photos I took.
Install guy made a wooden deck for the equipment, which hides all my amps which I really like. Not a great pic but I'm tired of lifting the heavy ass subwoofer box in and out the car.

Lexus is gonna be more for Luxury Driving. BMW is gonna have more spirited performance.
If you looking to cruise and enjoy time go with the lexus.
If you have a heavy foot looking for fun, BMW.
The Choice is clear...
...Just make sure to get a full Dinan exhaust and X Pipe and High Flow Cats....

It's always a sketchy moment when you're attempting to loosen the drain plug. For me it's usually..ok..which way do I turn the wrench(because upside throws me off lol) And then I'm always hoping not to strip the bolt because that would make life miserable. I feel your pain. Just got a big ass breaker bar and hold the end of it where the bolt is while you pull on it.

1. Go M3. Its a bulletproof engine and a heck of a car. Maintenance is gonna be expensive than most cars, and you will go through tires and gas (less than 20mpg unless youre on the highway alot, then its 20 mpg). But man, it is worth every dollar.
2. Get the DCT over the 6-speed manual. Although, you cant go wrong with both; and
3. I wouldnt care too much for the 2008-2009 unless you get one without nav (the old system is blah compared to the updated system, where you can stream through bluetooth and update the maps). Most of the M3 updates are going to be in the 2011 models.
The only reason I went X1 vs M3 was that 1. I am buying a new house and utility matters, 2. Fuel economy is really important to me right now, and 3. I want to spend some time in Canada in the winter and on remote gravel roads in the summer. Hopefully later next year I will be bringing an M3 online.

I am already at the point where I will probably be removing the oil pan...

saw the TL with the slammage, looking sick!, your car is always super clean. I didnt drive the CL up there, me and my girl went strait to the renaissance festival so we took her MDX, you'd pretty much need air bags to drive thru that hilly field

Thanks guys, brought my camera out but there was too many people around the cars to get some decent shots. Some teenage kids asked me how much the air ride cost , I told them and they said i was a cocaine drug dealer lmao.

My Father Knows best. Got the oil pan drain plug out finally, Put a new one in and then filled her up and washed her.
I do my own oil changes from now on.
My dad was out at cars and coffee, my news feed was full, really wish I went.

They ride really smooth, haven't messed with the dampening knobs yet. May want them a little more stiffer. Installer guy is very good , works out of his garage at home and gave me a great price on installation. I would definitely recommend him, and told him I have car friends that may need work done so whenever you guys need something look him up. R&L customs

Hope everyone's weekend was nice.
Drove down to Road Atlanta for Petit le mans. There were mad people there and tents all over the place. I failed at taking photos. I might have a few light trails of the cars but nothing spectacular.
Tyler ...Dorthy said she had a dream last night that she saw some penguins outside the window and she tried to snapchat me but it kept failing and she was getting upset lol.

Earlier today on 85 I came up on a TLX for the first time out in the wild. My mouth dropped and I pointed at it. Dorthy was like... oh the prius?! (which was in front of the TLX) And I said NAH! and kept pointing. I think I had to explain it was the new TLX. It was significant that it was our first sighting of one but the appeal was meh. Instead of slowing down and following it to gawk/drool I just kept driving and looked back at it.
