What to do for our meet next month now? Usually we start with C&C
Maybe just meet at RK Motors since they have plenty of parking? Get there early for our pictures and such and then go inside?

I know he was from SC. Which adds to the point that we as Charlotteans need to tax their asses when they come across the border. People like Jack and Evan think it's cute to live down there and come up here and get in everyone's way, causing ruckus and road rage and traffic.

Oh and I spotted another 3rd gen TL dead on the side of 440. This makes 2 that I've seen now.

^I think it's cute/amazing to pay 35-40% less taxes by living 2 miles across the border :P

You can make up that difference by paying tolls

Has anyone here driven on the newest section of 540? If you did, what were your thoughts?
To me, it was the nicest section of highway in the united states. The names of the road were etched into the cement on the over passes. The metal supports for the road signs were wrapped in concrete and had 4 leaf clover designs. There was hardly anyone on the highway Saturday morning when I was driving on it.
I kept thinking, ...man this is some bullshit. This needs to be down here where there is traffic everyday. And I honestly think the tolls would make the non toll paying sons of bitches find another way home and the traffic would dissipate.

The new section of 540 is amazing.

Just saw the C&C post. I'd like to slap that D bag w/ a freak'n brick. I finally made it out to my first C&C meet and now it's toast. I'm sure we'll figure something else out. That location was about as good as it gets though, in my opinion.

Just so everyone knows...RK Motors may be taking C&C and running with it. No real news yet, but it might not be gone forever.

Technically, I'm here everyday for work. But even on weekends, I'm in Charlotte quite a bit...just not at ridiculous times of the morning.

As far as the racing, I'll tell the whole story. I'm a little embarrassed to have been there. I was a victim of circumstance, wrong place at the wrong time, etc... but from what I hear I appeared guilty by association. I'm pretty upset because people that know me, know that I'm not into street racing. (Used to be, but that was ~10 years ago)
The guy in the s2000 is a friend of mine. It's fully built, 35r BB, front mount manifold, etc... car can make anywhere between 400-600 whp depending on which tune. We left C&C shortly after the Mustang incident, and were driving together with a couple other s2000 owners that I don't know. A silver GTR that was driving around with us pulls up beside him dropping gears, revving, and pacing the s2000, while we were all behind.
At first, my friend does nothing. He waves the guy off, there is traffic everywhere, etc... The GTR paces him and keeps up the douchebag behavior for awhile. I guess eventually it made my friend mad, so he drops gear and runs. First time, looks like he almost got sideways so he pedaled through and GTR noses him out. Second run, he gets traction walks the GTR.
The main point is, in between these mini runs we're in the middle of traffic, having to slow down behind them (holding up traffic), etc... Apparently there were some C&C attendees behind us and thought we were blocking to allow them to race, when that wasn't really what was going down at all... We were just there getting held up like everyone else.
If it matters to anyone, the friend ended up calling me later apologizing for what happened. Apparently he knows this guy, and the guy had been bugging him over and over in person and on the street for a run. I think it just got to him eventually.
On one hand I'm pissed that people would just automatically assume that I'm involved (I didn't jump in his car and press the gas pedal down for him), but on the other hand it was a bunch of s2000s driving together so... I can see how it might appear the way that they're saying.

I wonder how the uncc meet is going right now. I told Tyler if i go it depends on if i feel like being a bitch or not lol.
I've been browsing stickydiljoe's coverage of Tokyo auto salon. It's taking a long time go to through the photos.

I am getting a sense that both of you guys took some photos at the meet tonight and are in the process of bringing them to the internets.

Man I'm going to fly to Japan for the sole purpose of burning Volk's HQ to the ground. First they discontinue 17" TE37, and that sucked but I get it I guess... Now they've discontinued my dream wheel/specs. The CE28 in 17x10 +45 is now no longer made. WTF Volk?? Even buying them used will be an extremely minute possibility. They were already selling used for ~$3100, they'll probably be the same as new prices now. Not sure if you can tell, but I'm still pissed about the SE37k back in the day. Seems like they always ax the wheels I like the most.

Sorry Evan
At least you're in the market for new wheels
Eric, I didn't take too many pictures at the meet. The rain and cold turned a lot of people away.

You should live up to your plans, especially when they are made with a friend's fiancee.
