This is an Acura meet everyone wants to see the TL. I think it is stupid you say you are bringing the Lexus. The TL is beautiful and it is one of the top TLs on this site period.

The IS doesn't belong at this years IA either. It looks good but show off your major hard work on the TL.

Oh I didn't want to tell anyone but the TL will be down for a while as it will be going through some major changes. It's going to be hard not to tell anyone, but i'm going to try. Hopefully everyone will like the changes.

Your just keeping it down cause you are mad my car was down for so long and so that is why you are doing this. Really you just need to fix your EVAP canister so you can pass inspection.

Eric the tl need to stretch out it legs and run, burn some fuel. it been whining to you to drive it alittle more now adays.
it suck that my tl wont be lower or the rear a spec lip wont be put on for the meet. been too busy with school/ase certification and work that it gonna be on the back burner till IA, still waiting if i can get off work for IA also.
and tyler your going to be going to coilover soon? what you gonna do with your tein s tech spring? thinking the spring will be better for my wife and her driving vs. the coilovers.
gonna go scout out that parking deck to see how those route are. gonna check out the uncc meet too.

Yeah, thanks for the compliment on the IS, but unfortunately the TL is under the knife.

If I could I would! Unfortunately Saturdays are completely crappy for me The husband works all day, hard to find a babysitter (and i wouldn't dare bring out all 3 brats without him, they have me completely out numbered lol). Not to mention this Saturday I have to drive my cousin around for errands and to the airport bc of a death in her family and she refuses to drive on the highway (go figure).
This year I'm going to try to stay in the loop tho, lots of new mods now thanks to tax season! Haha. Just installed an aem cold air intake last night (yep, i got my hands dirty!) , and swapping out the cut neuspeed springs for coilovers, aspec lip kit, and maybe a few other surprises. Gotta show my baby off! LOL

i can't say that the deal of the century, my d2 were in rough shape, only had like 10k mile on them but been sitting in some guy storage unit for a year and some change so it develop some rust on the spring. and threads, in process of sand blasting the spring and putting on a spray can coat of black to keep them protected. gonna wire wheel the threads and coat them with anti seize. so it kind of even i guess. plus gota reuse the top hat, since they were for a accord.

I do have a few concerns. First, my spring/shock combo has over 80k miles on it. Everything is fine but knowing my luck, we will put my setup on your car and a shock will blow. Would you put the S-Techs on your stock shocks or want to just totally swap my shock/combo over? Second, I haven't messed with suspension in over 3 years. I know the rear seat comes out and I know I can get the front swapped, but the rear scares me. Maybe we can hire Bee to come and help
Are you looking for cash on top? Were they made for the TL or are they for an Accord or what? Height and dampening adjustment?
If you guys want to throw some money to a coilover fund for me, feel free
Sorry to hear Bryan

bryan, why you got to part out the car? it just need a transmission right?
tyler, i honestly just wanted the spring, your going to need your top hat for the coilover. the coilover was made for a 02-07 accord which i heard are the same thing as tl shock wise but they have a 5 bolt top hat vs tl 6 bolt top hat. it should be both height and dampening adjustable i might be missing 2 knobs to control it. plus i am missing the wrench. i think any coilover setup wrench should fit. but it has all the bump stop and washer, nut and stuff to assemble. once i have them clean up and partially assemble ill take some picture of them.

I have done a suspension install on the TL. It is a piece of cake in the rear. You just have to remove the C Pillar covers and then the entire back seat. It is rather easy though. You can find several copies of the service manual on the net as well.

I don't remember needing anything special. Lets put it this way. I had all the tools needed to do it when I did it.

if your going to contact d2, call urban import in chapel hill. there a direct distributor of d2 on the east coast. i have bought a set of coilover/rim from them when i had my 240sx. i think my contact there was jerry.
hopefully we can make this work. cause i am tired of looking at the tl being all high lol.

Maybe i can help, my girls 99 Acura CL needs a bunch of parts for it, we are currently trying to do alot repairs on it because she wants to keep it a little longer. And you can make some cash. Text me 704-258-7822 Bee
I'm very interested. Keep me posted about having them redone and such and if you're serious, I'll drive to your place and do the swap.

Hey guys,
It's been quite a while since I've posted, but I'm back with a question. (A friend in need is a pest, am I right?) It's about time for new tires on my 09 TL SH-AWD (18 inch rims). I've been looking at the Michelin Primacy MXV4. I've always been partial to Michelins for ride quality. So, two questions:
1) Any tire recommendations? I dont autocross or anything, but I do drive aggressively. I would want something in between performance and value.
2) What's the best place to buy and get them installed? I used Discount Tire with my Honda Accord before, and have always been pleased with the work. Anywhere else cheaper and / or better?
thanks!

I've recently decided ebay is the fastest and cheapest way to buy tires. That's what I did about a month ago. Then had discount tire install them.

i have the michelin's mxm4 on my wife acura rsx. they been holding pretty well, i think i have about 10-15000 mile so far and it bearly wore down. can't really say to much on performance since it just her daily beater. i got them from discount tires for like 140ish like a year ago. on my tl i have pirelli pzero nero tires and they seem excellent so far as with noise and handling. haven't really drove them in the rain so can't have a opinion on that.
if you don't care too much on road noise, i can recommend federals ss595, nexen n3000 they perform great as a summer tires plus last a good bit. but wont recommend them for rain.
