I love the roads in this state.
I know Tail of the Dragon gets a lot of publicity, but I think there are numerous roads, just as good AND with a MUCH lower LEO presence.
This is US 221 just north of the Grandfather Mtn entrance. It runs to Blowing Rock, below and roughly parallel to the Blue Ridge Parkway near the Linville Gorge Viaduct.
I've got video. IF it turned out OK, I'll post it.
Edit:
I have no video. Apparently my 'videographer' missed the part where you push the button to record.

Definitely awesome road though for sure. I have done the Blueridge parkway in VA last year. How far away from Charlotte is that section of 221 as I need to find a trip for this summer but needs to be closer than the Dragon for sure.

The lack of proper shadows for one is a dead ringer. Also using images that have not been scaled to the same pixel density and aspect ratio is another tip off as well. One of the reason why people always comment that my wheel chops never really look like chops. I spend so much time finding the right pictures that are at almost the same angle, are similar in size, and both have at least 72dpi or more preferred 96dpi. If one picture is much better quality that the other reduce the images to the quality of the worst image you are using in the chop. Just a few hints I have for chopping images together.
Here are a couple wheel chops for you.
