I love working on cars so I would have no problem taking a half day to do it but since I don't have access to an air compressor I don't want to deal with working with spring compressors manually. I really don't like the idea of working with spring compressors at all. I truthfully was looking forward to the idea if you had top hats since my gf is leaving Saturday morning so I have nothing to do this weekend anyways.
My thought too.
4 top hats with hand tools would be a PITA. I did two a couple months ago when I put front shocks on the '02.
I've been angeling to get a decent electric impact gun. That'd make short work of a suspension job.
BTW - Brian, get new bushings if they're not included. Type-S bushings if you buy new.

Dealer is the best place to get 'em, I think. Probably easiest anyhow. BUT you might be able to find replacements at an auto parts store although I would stay away from heavy duty urethane (for example, Energy Suspension) replacements; I think they might be too firm and effect the ride quality.
What year is your car and how many miles? The ones in my '02 were smashed to (guess) 1/2 their original thickness - almost pancakes. You don't have to replace them, but with everything apart, it's the perfect time.
Item #18 for the front (4 total peices):

pretty sure this is them as well (from heeltoe)?
http://www.heeltoeauto.com/product.php?productid=64843
also, i'm thinking about just ordering these (the top hats) so i can do the install without taking it to a shop. this is becoming a pain in the ass...if i would've known all this i would've gotten coils with top hats!

yeah i think the upper mount bushings are part of the top hat kit. i'm probably coming off as a moron here, but my knowledge of this stuff is rather poor...sadly.
so the type-s one would be this then: http://www.heeltoeauto.com/Honda-Gen...-pr-63594.html

Brian did you order the manual yet? Also we could do your taillights at the same time as well.

^^pretty sure he does. i got them from xlr8 performance cause heeltoe couldnt get them in for a few weeks since they were on nat'l back order.
anyway...jason, it says that the drop height has the same range on the coilovers i got (street basis) and the super streets. both are stated to have a max drop height of F/R: -2.5/-2.3. am i missing something?
http://www.heeltoeauto.com/Tein-Susp...-pr-57009.html
yes, i have the manual on order...all over it.
sounds like a plan.

Brian an independently height adjustable coilover lets you adjust the height without afecting the amount of shock/damper travel their is. Whereas will the Street Basics when you lower the car you are actually reducing the amount of possible shock/damper travel that you have.
Here is a picture of a set of TEIN Basics. If you look at the picture at the bottom of the spring there are two green locking collars. These let you raise and lower the spring height to set the height of the car. With this type you are also unable to set the preload on your springs at all either. The Street Basics also do not allow you to adjust the dampening or ride stiffness either.
Then you have these BC Racing full coilovers. They have two gold locking collars at the bottom of the spring for the spring seat. Then they have another collar at the bottom body of the coilover. This lets you raise and lower the height of the car by moving the height of the shock/damper itself without actually changing the damper travel or the spring preload. These allow you to adjust dampening or ride stiffness of the car.
Another thing is did you order camber kits for the rear of the car. The front is not as important but a camber kit for the rear is usually a good thing to have.
If you only plan to lower the car an 1in to 1.5in then you will be fine. I certainly would not suggest lowering more than 2in with the TEIN Street Basics.

Tail lights are easy. I messed with mine so many times I got to where I could swap both in less than half an hour. Plus you won't encounter any stuck nuts like with a suspension or exhaust. Doubt you'll need my help with that, but if you do, just let me know.

^^yourself, and everyone else helping me out here, i sincerely thank you. i'd be lost otherwise...clearly.
jason - alright i got what ur saying now. i did talk with marcus (heeltoe) and xlr8 (josh) and both said based on the specs i gave them i wont need a camber kit. from what i measured, i will need a drop of about 1.5". i'm simply looking to close up the wheel well gap and nothing more. i'm certainly not attempting to 'slam' it.

Alright sounds good then you will be just fine. I would say order new top hats with TL-S bushings from Heeltoe and I believe I am free next weekend so we could do the install then if you want.

At that age and mileage, I think you'll definetly benefit from replacement. Not as much as a change as you'll get from changing shocks & springs, but every little bit helps.
If you order from HeelToe on the net, try coupon code "Acurazinerocks". Might save a couple bucks.

If that is dealer retail pricing then go to acuraautomotiveparts.org you can get them for below retail price. My local dealer also will match the prices from that site as it is just a dealer selling parts online.

Mitzi is the total opposite. She WANTS to go to the club but I'm not a huge club guy; it's not really my scene. I would rather go to the bar and just sit and relax.

if ur hitting up bars up here u should do dirty martini in huntersville. they have a nice outside area--good place to bring ur girl. i used to go there now and then but i'm no longer welcome there...long story. you can also go to rudder. certainly not the 'classiest' place but its usually a good time.
let me know next time u go out up here (or vice-versa) and we'll meet up.

Clubs suck, both from an atmosphere perspective and a music perspective. Much rather just chill at a bar with some good rock music from the juke box/radio.
