Look for a meet in your area, and I am sure a few of the boys that attend can help you install at the meet.......thats how we used to roll back in the day! Anyone takers for a helping hand for this guy?

we need more south florida strictly acura meets. and someone needs to start a true post for the dates and locations of the meets. tampa, orlando , fort myers, miami c'mon lets go guys!!!!

 

There was a meet going strong for about a year or so in Boca every Monday night at 5 guys town center, it was all cars/trucks/bikes...Shit got out of hand big time after a while...People started fighting, a ton of people (mostly Miami goons) started bringing dogs mostly pits, and the bikes started there own stunt show...It got so big that people would bbq and sell food. It was running strong as ever bringing about 100-120 cars EVERY monday night...

A second meet was started in Boca as well by Glades and the Tpike, every Wednesday night but it wasn't as large.

However last month the cops came in, and announced that anyone participating in meets is going to be cited for conspiracy to race. So everything has kind of been on the low lately.

 

What!!!! wow.

 

Anybody need a body shop near the MIA airport. lemme know. my buddy does really good work for reasonable prices.

Ended up finding a beautiful home in Sanford so here I am, but I dont know a damn person here! We need to get some meets going!

So does anyone know where a good place to get my tints redone would be? I want to go darker since I think I can go pretty dark down here.

Check the threads on tint.

And remember that our TLs come with approx. 75% tint so whatever you put on you need to factor that in.

You can also go darker on the rear windows and back window. Mine are at the limit (see my signature).

If you have Navi, you will want to get non-metallic tint, such as ceramic, so as not to interfere with the Navi antenna which is located under the package shelf in the rear. Welcome to Florida. You're in Acura country!

Thanks guys. Tint law was 35% all the way around in Illinois, but I have about 25% (i think, it came on the car) and never had a problem.

I looked up the law and FL allows 28% on the front and %15 on the back, so maybe ill go down to a 18% or so and see how I do.

Anyone recommend a good tint shop around sanford/lake mary?

 

I had 20% all around on my TL-S. Welcome to FL BTW. Also, you may want to look into having moleskin installed to protect the tint from scratches.

Regarding tints, I am interested in the new 3M Crystalline tints for my RSX. They are expensive compared to standard tints, but in addition to blocking the UV, the 70% and darker tints block 99% of the IR. They also have a 90% tint which is effectively clear, but it blocks 90% of the IR. This appeals to me here in Central Florida as most of the heat that gets in the car comes from solar IR radiation. These tints are also non-metallic.

I don't like dark tint due to the reduction of visibility at night. I am looking at 70% sides and back and 90% on the windshield. I know that any tint on the windshield is technically illegal, but cutting the IR for that much glass area would be worth it to me. I hope to get a quote next week.

I found only one place locally that carries this tint, and it's in Longwood. Search for 3M Crystalline tint to find tint shops that install it.

On vacation in Orlando from NYC and i have been here for a week, I have spotted only 1 4G and 2 3G. I will be here for a few more days and I'll see if I spot anymore, in NYC there is a slew of TL'S all over the place.

Name a place and time man. People are busy ya know, it takes time to coordinate meetups. This thread was created shortly after a meetup that I took a lead role in planning and it was no easy task. I can't plan anything now with grad school, work, a wedding, and moving.

But if you name a place and get something set up I would be more than happy to stop by.

 

I would be game for a AZ meet sometime. Just set up a place and a time and hopefully my car will be out of the body shop. Does anyone know a good place to get a clear bar put on?

hey. i just moved down here from chicago i got 20% tints, i used to get harassed all the time in chicago for it, so i ended up putting untinted front windows in, but i put the 20%'s back in the front windows when i came down, haven't been bothered yet but i got no AC so i drive with the windows down anyways most of the time

 

No A/C in FL? You must be dieing.......

 

its not too bad, seems like it was way hotter in chicago BUUT we've got two other cars to drive which have AC, so my car's been doing more sitting in the garage then driving and taking it out at night, haha.

i've actually got the whole AC put back in b4 i left chicago but it wouldn't kick on, i think the only thing i haven't replaced yet is the evap, so maybe one of these days i'll pull the dash and replace it (already got a replacement) hopefully that fixes it
