Car has a lot of issues with the title and all.

If you can get me a title in hand, I will buy it for $800. I am in Houston.

Actually, I can't tell from the ad. Was the car flooded or just the engine?

I can make a better offer if I see the car's condition in person.

Just water up the low cold air intake. The interior is actually in pretty good shape for a 2005. All it needs is a shifter boot and steering wheel or just a steering wheel cover.

Thank you for your offer. Yes, the title was an ordeal for e because it was my first exposure to that kind of problem. It happens so often though, that it is fairly easy if you know what you are doing. I do now.

Thank you for your offer. I have higher offers, at least $1000 that I am sure of.

I understand your concern on the flooding. I bet many were damaged that way but this one was just a lesson in the fact that water does not compress so well. No water in the interior that I know of. It was my son and I have to admit, realization of what happened had not occurred to me until he described the events. I sort of laughed as I told him water doesn't give so the piston rods have to. The pics make it look dusty I guess from the fabric.

I did a pretty thorough vacuuming because of cat hair but it looks pretty great to me.

OK, I am dropping to $1500 obo, BUT, it is pretty dang firm.

It is simply too much good car that just needs a short block or upgrade. The interior is far better than most of this age. The paint and body except for the hood dent is also exceptional for its age.

I have to keep the price at $1500 OBO based on the quality of the interior and body, it is worth more, imo. Plus, I am out of work and need the capital badly!

The same guy who made an offer earlier that fell through made another, lower offer that I accepted and is now afraid of a bonded title. I understand, in retrospect I was uncertain about it as well. Now that I understand I am all good with it.

A bonded title is basically insurance of ownership. To get the bond we had to show proof to satisfy the DMV in Houston and get a letter from them and take that to a bonding/insurance company. The bonding company sold us a 3 year policy/bond so that if somehow the original or other owner could prove their ownership claiming it was stolen or something (not likely since we have the original title and aforementioned documents and he would have to have a stolen vehicle police report) that "claimant"/owner would get the value of the bond which is $4,500, and the current owner still keeps the car and title. It insures us and whoever buys the car at several times the value of the car in this case, against such a claim.

We have the original title, bill of sale from second owner (who did not register in his name thus the need for a bonded title), and we have all signatures and addresses so bonding was easy enough. We would have to pay $183 (if we had it) for the title from the state which as I understand says nothing of the bond anyway. The bond is good for 3 years and is transferable to the buyer so that he is protected too. I am not sure but understand that at the end of those three years a clear title can be applied for by the owner. As soon as we sell, we already have the paperwork in hand to pay the $183 to complete the process for the bonded title. The paper title will be in-hand in 5 to 7 business days per the County Representative at the registration/tax office.

I am pretty confident!
