2003 Acura CL Type-S (6-speed)
Requirements for my interest:
-Under 110k miles(the lower, the better)..trying to be realistic here, but I'd buy one with 30k miles if I could
-Silver (preferred) or black exterior only
-Manual Transmission
-Black interior
-Clean title
-Mostly or all stock
-Well maintained car
-Minor or no paint flaws (garage kept or washed regularly)
Your location is not an issue, I will fly out to purchase the right car. Let's talk if you're considering selling, I have cash in hand!

I'm really hoping to buy from a forum member, or just someone that gives off the vibe they generally cared about and took care of the car..I don't trust he typical Craigslist folk.
I want a good, reliable CL-S with no hidden problems.

Thanks! Trust me, man, I'd already seen both of those. I'm being a little cautious before going across the country for a car because I'm in California. Mr washington DC was being weird through emails.

best of luck in your search. I wanted a manual as well this time last year when I began my search, however ended up buying a clean auto with less than 100k on it 02 CLS last summer. A few bumps in the road when I first got it, but now it is my daily driver.

Hi, thanks for the response. I actually saw this one literally an hour after he posted it. He is saying it is not available anymore, so I'm not sure why the ad hasn't been taken down..but I was very interested in it...

You've probably already seen this example listed, but just in case you haven't. The aftermarket rims the seller is running look horrible (IMO) and the mileage is way over what you're looking for....

UGH! Just missed out on a black on black one in Cali for sale at a stealership with only 76k!!!
The dealer was refusing to post up pictures and I was not willing to drive almost 400 miles to purchase a car I hadn't even seen pictures of...........apparently someone else was. SMH....the search continues.....

You've probably already seen it, but here's an example (but right at your limit of 110k miles) in Utah:

Talk about timing lol. I put mine up for sale a while back, then got busy, and now putting my unicorn back up for sale. I think there is a total of ~23 of them with this configuration? If you're interested in going white ....
White on Black
Manual + Nav
Just hit 108k miles
I can't remember if it was one or two prior owners before me.
I can give you more info over PM if you are interested

Owned a black on silver SC'd CLS6 for a while, before that I had a Silver RSX for over 8 years. I am done with Silver hahah and it is too common.

That is funny. That configuration is my 2nd most preferred. I don't want nav, I love parchment on these with either Red or White. If I end up selling my current car I wouldn't hesitate to offer 10 maybe 12k for this one.

I don't want nav either, what's your reason 57cr not wanting It? Mine is because I like the trick that you can achieve by turning the temp knob whichever way you want and even with it off, if you own the moonroof, it will pull a draft through the vents while you're driving. I like that and I don't think that's possible with the nav versions since it integrates your ac controls into it..

that's why I like silver...its lowkey, but I'm actually kinda leaning toward wanting black over silver now.

That is very cool I never heard of that trick. Primary reason is that I would never in a million years choose to use a 10 year old touch screen Nav over my phone. I can plug in a destination in like 4 key strokes. 2nd reason is every Nav I have seen in one of these or an old TL or MDX is scratched to hell and looks beat, really aging the interior of the car. I just prefer to have easy access to all the analog buttons for radio and A/C.

Guys, yes I'm looking for the best possible Black or Silver CL-S six speed..i won't go with any other exterior color, and I will pay top dollar for the right one. I'm not interested in ANYTHING OUTSIDE of my requirements that I posted, and even then, I'm looking for the best, most minty black or silver cls6 that I can find...i don't want to wait, but I will continue to do so until I find the best possible car that fits my requirements. Again, I will pay top $$$ for the right one..the lower the miles, the better. Thanks.

Ugh...this forum is DEAD...i had hope that there would be at least 1 person on here with a clean silver or black cl-s 6-speed...its so frustrating waving around cash money and not being able to do anything with it....i mean I have the means to make it happen, but the product simply doesn't exist!! At least, they're too rare to find these days....ugh, the search continues ;(

There is a really clean (seemingly), 2 owner, silver one on auto trader for $6500. It has 107k. Its in southern California. I would post the link if I knew how, but I don't.
You do need to realize that you are looking for a 14-15 year old car, that was fairly limited in production, and susceptible to being abused. To find one with low miles, all of its original sheet metal, in pristine condition, and in a specific color/interior combo, is a tall order to fill. I would guess that there are probably only 100-150 cars at most left in the entire world that fit all of your requirements. 5 years ago I decided I wanted one of these cars-in blue. Every blue car I found either had too many miles or had been abused. Tried to buy a gray one out in California, and the guy flaked out. Thought I had two different silver ones and one guy decided to keep his, and the other guy never got back to me when he said he would. I ended up with a red one from Florida (Originally a Texas car). I took 6 months to get all that done, and 5 years ago these cars were much more plentiful than they are now. Good luck.

I do realize the magnitude of my order, but i know they're out there..i just wish i could get in contact with the owners and make them a juicy offer they couldn't resist...

Very occasionally I'll revisit this thread to see how Drew's WTB search is coming along. But with all due respect, I'm afraid I must take issue with this (perhaps unintentionally) skewed characterization of our private correspondence back in March:
...specifically with regard to "...he ended up revealing..."
The fact that I'd damaged the front by rear-ending another car (not having quite enough braking distance after momentarily taking my eyes off the road) was in fact information I volunteered in the VERY FIRST paragraph of my VERY FIRST direct e-mail reply to Drew's inquiry ... not at all something that "ended-up" being "revealed" after "extensive" communication. The truth is that nearly all of our extensive communication carried on for over a week after the 2007 accident history was already known to him. ((It was not a terribly serious accident -- airbags did not deploy -- and the front bumper + one headlight + front hood + radiator [or radiator hose] + etc. was all repaired at a AAA-certified body shop, covered by my insurance, and afterwards -- and over the 9+ years since then -- I never perceived any indication of poorer steering, handling, or cornering compared to before the accident. So to me it seems like ancient history and a complete non-issue. Drew was/is more than welcome to come test drive it himself, and if still in doubt have his mechanic put it on a lift to inspect carefully the condition of the front end, if so desired --- after the damage was professionally repaired in late 2007, I had the Acura dealership in Santa Monica do this for me, and their mechanic gave it a clean bill of health ...)).
The saga that has resulted in there being a slight color mismatch -- most notably between the driver's door and the rear quarter panel behind it -- is all openly explained in full here:
https://acurazine.com/forums/second-.../#post15993960
(in fact I created that early-April post largely by copy+pasting from e-mails I'd sent to Drew the previous month). Earlier in that seeking advice thread, most AZ respondents didn't think it was necessary (or a wise use of money) to spend as much as I ultimately did on the exterior paint prior to putting the car up for sale. If the now much more minor imperfections remaining are still bothersome to a buyer, the car can certainly be taken back to the shop that recently did the great prep and painting work for me, so they can do likewise to any additional panel(s) for the buyer. Cosmetically-speaking, the car's exterior looks tremendously better now than it did back in February (imho), and Drew himself described the car as "beautiful" in his very first message to me.... (Granted if I were considering buying this car, my own "perfectionist" -leaning character flaw would also find the driver's door to rear-quarter panel slight color mismatch a bit bothersome, so having just the driver's door repainted at a cost of $400 might be "necessary" [sic] to keep it from unduly subtracting (inside my head) from the car's pretty nice appearance overall. Hi-Def photos are here https://acurazine.com/g/album/7144644 for anyone wanting to judge for themselves -- everyone is entitled to their own opinion about what's acceptable or unacceptable as far as cosmetic appearance is concerned, but let's agree Drew's WTB thread here is not the best place to have that debate .... if you absolutely must express an opinion, I'd be happy to receive it by PM or or you may reply to my clear-coat-failure thread at the top link in this post -- thanks ! ).
Apologies for taking up bandwidth here, but since the car is still for sale, I felt it was necessary to clarify and set the record straight in this thread, just so anyone else who might be looking doesn't go away with the false impression that I'd tried to conceal anything whatsoever from Drew, or for that matter from anyone else who has inquired about the car.
Peace,
-- Jim
