Do you know if these can be used on the single

Which block are you talking about? All J-series motors are single cam

I have a J37A1 in my 08' MDX. I am using K tuner for tuning and I don't plan on going to a standalone ECU because the car is SH-AWD.

On on the older D series you could swap a DOHC head from a ZC motor to a single cam block.

If it's possible I'd swap these heads to the A1 block. Assuming the water passages line up, etc. But that's the part I'm unsure of. I haven't really opened up a motor since my K20A2.

^ yes it should work. Got a buddy that got a built j36 (j32a3 block, j37a1 crank, j35 piston) and dual vtec head. He had to do something with the camshaft sensor/ sprocket.

IMO I believe it'll work but don't have a concrete answer for you. Read through that thread posted above.
