2009 RDX turbo (may need new actuator)

Category: Engine - Power Adders
Price: $175
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part Fits (you may select multiples): RDX
Location (State/Prov/Terr): CA
Item Condition: Used

Pulled off 2009 Acura RDX. Was throwing a code driving at higher elevations (California Sierras), but fine around town (San Francisco bay area). Boost itself is fine, no play on shaft or anything. Appears to be an issue w/ VGT actuator. Didn't have time to figure out a cheaper resolution so replaced with a brand new OEM turbo.

Perfect candidate for somebody looking for a cheaper replacement for a malfunctioning turbo, willing to figure out actuator issue or a rebuild.

as it's large and safely packed, shipping charged extra depending on location.
Local pickup in SF bay area also possible.

Does this thread have any bearing on this sale?

This is in fact the turbo that was in the car in that video, great find. I forgot I had posted that. The rattling turned out to be related to the VGT actuator, the connecting bar at the bottom was a bit loosened out as documented by other owners in another thread, and likely is a part of the problem I described below.
It's essentially a much less severe example of the issue shown in this thread near the bottom by another owner:
https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-rdx-...-861782/page4/

There are some remedies described on that thread, and another owner has a more jury-rigged solution with a piece of metal cable (I can't seem to find this thread at the moment, sorry). But as mentioned, I didn't have time to diagnose and try things, as it's my wife's car and I needed to get her back on the road pronto.

This is of course why I'm offering the turbo for as cheap as I am. It is certainly not perfect. But as far as I can tell with limited time to diagnose the specifics, the problem it seems is limited to this actuator.

bump. still available. I believe it's a steal for anybody willing to work out the actuator replacement as some here appear to have.
