Looks like Subaru and Honda got together to make the Honda Accord Outback Coupe.

Why can't Honda ever actually build the good looking concepts they come up with instead of teasing us and then offering us crap to buy?!?!? If the HFP kit looked anything like that I'd buy a new Accord today!

Wing is and not feeling the two-tone color...would be much better if it was monochrome....and the kit is a little much.

Press release from Honda...

Honda Access America, Inc., Honda's U.S. accessory development team designed and built the HF-S Concept to demonstrate how the customized use of technology could allow vehicle owners to fine-tune performance while adding their own senses of style. Key exterior and conceptual powertrain modifications represent functional performance and driving-experience enhancements.

Unique LED driving lights, placed on the fore-most corners, wrap around the front of the bumper providing increased visibility both forward and side for the driver while also creating a unique appearance. The shape of the front bumper is designed to create a vortex effect to enhance high-speed aerodynamics and engine cooling. On the sides of the vehicle, the shape of the carbon fiber panels decreases negative speed force around the wheel arches. The rear bumper diffuser is designed to reduce drag. The trunk spoiler is a prototype design engineered for high-speed down-force. The metallic color of the exterior is accented by Cadmium Orange Pearl - a color derived from super-heated metal. The use of this color for the brake calipers, badges, grille accent, and interior details underscores the vehicle's high-performance appearance.

Key to the concept is the use of technology to electronically customize throttle response, suspension settings, steering boost, and traction involvement to the driver's taste. Additionally, the exhaust is a two-stage design. It is engineered to be exceptionally quiet during relaxed cruising, and provide elevated levels of performance in high performance driving situations.

I like this concept quite a bit ... just forego the 2-tone exterior. All black or all silver for me, please. (But this is SEMA, where you have to go chameleon or at least 2-tone to be noticed ...)

Ya know I have been waiting on the Coupe, any coupe, to be exact, but all Hondas and Acuras continue to be a 60/40 weight with FWD bias, front tire eating platforms with pretty good 'go' but not the best of class…yes drives nice etc…hang some art work on it etc…

Oh well, may wait or look elsewhere….but not much out there…oh well…..maybe a mellow sounding Stang or down the road G 8 or Camaro....

I've yet to see a 08 Accord on the road here in the SF Bay Area or in the Sacramento area.

Two local dealers, Honda of Oakland and Anderson Honda, are already selling the 08 Accord at invoice, which is very surprising to me considering that it hasn't been on the market for more than two months. Someone reported buying an 08 Accord for 500 under invoice at Oakland just last week.

I hate those orange gauges, reminds me of what Infiniti had in their cars. I'm glad Infiniti moved to the white/blue gauges, looks more classy.

Damn, all those exterior visual mods added more horsepower to the car than Honda did.

the 2-tone seems to make the front overhang a lot more longer than it really is. or, maybe it's really that long...

Replace those orange bits (steering wheel, shift knob, grill) with some carbon fiber and it would really do it for me.

It looks OK. Gotta agree that the 2 tone paintjob sucks. It just makes the wheel wells seem even bigger so that the car doesn't look lowered and the 20" rims on it look tiny.

Thankfully this is not true.

So you want another FWD coupe based off the Accord to replace the FWD coupe based off an Accord CL?

CL = based off Accord coupe, correct. It also sold like the plague.

Why would anyone or Honda want another.

No, Acura is not stupid enough to make the same mistake twice. It was the FWD V6 Accord coupe that nailed shut the FWD V6 CL's coffin. But RWD CL would work.

Nissan is doing it. FWD Altima coupe, and RWD G37 coupe.

Guess what else is based off the Accord? The TL which sells extremely well, and is based off the Accord. The last CL sold like shit because it was very bland, and the G35 Coupe owned it on every level except the interior.

Acura should make a 2 door TL(CL) next time around with SH-AWD and if done proper I'm sure it would sell very well.

Really, I had no idea.

Blandness hurt as did the FWD layout. Point being, another CL cannot afford to have either. A TL coupe wouldn't sell either.

The main selling point for the CL-S was the 6-sp manual transmission coupled with a V6 (260hp) and handling performance, when the Accord coupe was still auto shift only with a V6 (200hp), or manual shift with an I4. But when the 6-sp manual V6 Accord coupe (with 240hp, 17" wheels, sport tuned suspension, etc.) came out, and the CL sales was dangling, Honda finally pulled the plug. The 6-sp manual V6 Accord coupe mimiced so much of the CL-S that it didn't leave the CL-S with anything else.

Meanwhile, the market for 4-door sedans is huge, and the 4-door V6 Accord never has the manual shift V6 (that the coupe has) and sport tuned suspension to really threaten the Acura TL. The TL is always a step above the 4-door Accord in terms of handling performance, because the 4-door Accord is intended to be an economy family sedan tuned for comfort and ride quality.

However, the new 4-door Accord with 3.5L-V6 (268 hp) seems to be starting to cut into the TL sales, from looking at the October Honda/Acura sales figures.

The previous generation Accord offered a V6 manual for the sedan after it got the refresh. So 2006-2007 model years had it I believe.

As far as the TL sales go, you have to keep in mind that the TL is on it's last model year, and about to be replaced soon, so IMO I think that's one of the major reasons why it's not selling as well these days.

Honda is lagging on my Accord! Sorry, just had to let that out.

By the way: So far I've only seen 5 Accord Sedans on the road and 1 Accord Coupe. I'm glad these are still low key.
