Rupes and Adam's have a longer throw...also better ergonomics, I would say.
If you have a PC, don't worry about it but if I were in the market for something new,
I would opt for the longer throw, it's noticeably faster at correcting and just bringing
that shine back.

I'm also big on simplifying the process...been using an all in one set of products on
an orange pad and calling it a day lately.

 

What all in one are you using? I'm in need of some for the spring when I do actually want to get those scratches out of the Jeep's paint. Pretty sure the Megs I have right now is about a decade old and not good anymore.

 

@SamDoe1 I first used Klasse...and was impressed...but I lent the bottle to a friend when I needed to do my Mom's CRV...
so I tried this out and can't say enough good about it...1 pass on that Adam's long throw and it looked like the vehicle had been repainted. Dead skin was removed.

2012 A7 Premium Plus

- 2" Binder full of receipts since new
- 2 keys
- Window sticker ($64k MSRP)
- Not a single fault on the dash, everything works
- 148k miles (thought it was 155k but I suppose less is better).

Purchased for a whopping 7 grand.

Driving impressions?

I feel spoiled.

This car is SO nice .. it may be 9 years old but it doesn't feel it at all - tight as a drum, quiet, very easy to get over 90mph.

The 3.0T in this car doesn't sound like it has aged a bit .. drivetrain is quiet on a cold start and the ZF8 transmission shifts silky smooth.

I'll give more impressions as I drive it more but, I'm looking forward to having a super comfy / practical daily again.

Hatchback does make it easier to load stuff though!

I've always thought the 1G C7 A7 looked pretty damn good compared to the new ones, but funny though .. I much prefer the CLS550

I still think this looks miles ahead of any of the 3 series / 5 series "GT" cars.



I plan on keeping it factory for now ... although, if the shocks blow / gives me an excuse to take it all apart ... I'll lower it and replace the struts with Bilsteins.

I got a helluva deal on it, but I wouldn't be scared of a 100k+ mile 3.0T. Assuming you keep up with the services (which tbh, isn't horrible), they seemingly run forever and don't have any of the timing chain nightmares of the 4.2.

ZF8 is a proven transmission, too.

You can get a really nice ~75k mile A7 for around 15-20k depending on the color / package.

the more I look at it the more I kinda wish the S4 was an A7...although DSG and Volcano is pretty nice...
hard to argue this is a lot more car as far as size, probably comfort and that price you paid...I can't get over that.
So what makes a car stick for me mainly is when it's in "beater" price range...like...7K ain't gonna make you lose
sleep for everything you're getting in one car so it is immediately off the chopping block.

Truthfully, I think an A7 / S5 would be a phenomenal combo ... the S4 / S5 are very similar minus the 2 doors and in your case one having DSG / a man pedal.

DSG is ferociously quick but, don't let the ZF8 deceive you. They hold decent power / are very smooth / very quick for an AT ... and did I mention they also have TCU tunes?

My buddy's SQ5 shifts dumb fast for what it is. I want to say his car with a flash, downpipe, and TCU tune is in the low 4s 0-60. It almost looks like DSG as it's going through gears @ WOT.

But yes .. this was simply a deal I could not pass up - When I was asking about price and they came back with 7k, it was a done deal before I even looked or test drove the car.

Even if it needed work .. I would still be on top.

 

J's ex has an A7 TDI so I can't get one.
He also has a Q7 TDI.

If I didn't already have a pretty sorted S4 I would try and sell and look for an A7 for sure.

 

You could always get an A7 and make it look 100 x better than his ... I can't think of a more passive aggressive flex for an Ex.
