One person is dead, following a solo vehicle accident Sunday morning.
A silver Honda S2000, went over the side of the mountain on Highway 39, killing one male occupant. Firefighters, rescue workers and Officers were dispatched to the incident at 8:31 am.
Paramedics pronounced the victim dead, after rapelling over 100 feet down. His body was recovered by Sheriff Air Rescue 5. Rescue efforts took 5 hours and 15 minutes and included multiple agencies.

Yeah it sucks for the guy. But running drag slicks at 8am in the Azusa Mountains (where it gets below freezing, 25-35F in the morning), and driving spiritedly, is a disaster waiting to happen.
