What are you going to run for methanol? I'll be running Snow Performance Boost Juice this spring on the BMW with the Burger WMI kit. It's convenient, relatively inexpensive and comes in at 49/51 meth/water ratio.

Nope, sold it. Loved the car to death after owning it over 9 years, but wanted something smaller, faster and rear wheel drive, hence the M240i. TL is still in the family though. Nephew bought it.

- Just ordered x6 (genuine) RDX injectors
- Cold air intake from ebay is on its way(aswell as some intake piping).
- Dom will tune my car up to the full exhaust and CAI after those are installed next week.

I love living in the PNW! Not a hint of rust.

Finally fixed my non-lifting trunk. Spoiler made it too heavy, so I did the spring trick.

Before -

After - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nuefemPeJRI&feature=youtu.be

Finally no more people slamming my trunk not knowing theres no resistance when closing.

After doing some research on exhaust I have come to these conclusions:

- ATLP Is spot on, low key European sounding without any drone or rasp.(they should make the base single tips again).

- XLR8 has a raspy idle and a high end rasp

- VR6 sounds good but way too much rasp across the powerband

- EndlessRPM sounds nice but has high end rasp

- Magnaflow Rasp/drone

- GReddY sounds good, but the mufflers look ricey

ATLP will be installed this weekend!

Perhaps users of these products have a better opinion? I generated these opinions from Acura TL youtube vids.

The methanol kit really does help out though, especially during the summer.
Would you be so kind as to send me a pic of the inside of your trunk so I can see your battery setup?

I was about to purchase the fuel pump you suggested, but k-series parts.com says it wont fit my car?

I ran my battery cable from the trunk to under the back seat and then ran the cable along the fuel line. There is a grommet there to pass it through. Also removed the stock battery cable, used 0/1ga for the main cable and 4ga to the under hood fuse box.

Would also suggest that you add a large fuse or circuit breaker right after the the positive connection to the battery. I'll try and dig up my old pictures if you are interested. I had documented all that here using photobucket but they were all lost.

You'll have to do some modifications to the existing fuel pump cage. If no one else has any examples, I will see if I can find any pictures before I went to a return style system.

Nice to see activity here!

My ATLP exhaust was at my door yesterday and I wasn't home! No! They will be back Tuesday. So Ill install it midweek.

Thanks for the suggestion KN-TL, why must I use a fuse, and which size fuse is best for this application?

Duronn - Thanks for that! Did you bolt down your battery box? If so, was it just to the fiberboard?

No, I actually drilled two bolt holes through the sheet metal to also hold down the battery, that area underneath is behind the the left muffler, so I suggest while youre removing the old exhaust, drill some holes and install the battery box before you actually install the new exhaust.

Here are the photos I found from my battery relocation. I added a circuit breaker because there is greater chance of a short with the length of the cable.

Thanks guys! I ordered this one on ebay. Looks exactly the same except for the clear plastic cover. Cheap!

Circuit breakers are awesome. Ran a 150amp one when I relocated the battery in my trunk. I used a sealed battery just because I was worried about the hydrogen out gassing from the battery

I installed Dom's tune to my stock TL today. OMG what a difference! I feels like the car either lost weight, or the car gainer power(specially low end power). The pedal is so much more responsive and torquey.

It seems like the engine and tranny are insync now. I used to have to kinda play with the pedal to get what I needed, now the tranny adjusts to my driving. Most noticeably, it wont shift into the next gear prematurely like it used to.

Its has suddenly become so much more of a pleasure to drive! Dom said I was riding too lean on my stock ECU. Whatever he did has made the experience of driving the TL that much Mo Betta!

Anyone else notice this with their tune on hondata?

Dom is a tuning Wizard! An ECU sorcerer!!

PS bought a gallon of boost juice

You'll usually notice a difference w/ hondata and a good tune. Some will argue you can gain HP from it, but that's a whole other topic.

To answer your question about the fuel pump I think the dw65c from the civic si 06-08 will work. I know that is the one that we use on the accord v6.

The TL fuel pump is the same as the rsx. It’s 110 LpM . So a 255 fuel pump should really help keep you safe from pressure drops

I looked for pictures of my original modified cage but couldn't find any. Do a google search and you'll find a lot of people who have done it.

Just make sure you measure everything and then compare it to the pump you will be purchasing. I had a Walbro 255 originally and the pump diameter is larger and they just cut the cage where the body slides in and then used nylon tywraps to secure it. I later modified it a bit and used stainless steel tywraps with a foam sleeve to give it some bite. I was later given an Aeromotive pump which I am still running today. I don't recall the model, I will see if I can find any pictures of it when I get home, but it also was in service when I was running on the in tank FPR.

It should never be an argument that you can gain horsepower from a proper tune.

RV6 was the shit, IMO...
I had the V3 Jpipe wrapped in header wrap and high flow cats...
Basically no rasp.

I watched that clip a few times, the RV6 is good, I really like the ATLP. Sounds heavenly, but it comes down to preference.

Ive looked around and cannot find base tips for the ATLP quad exhaust. Going to have to ghetto rig it until I can get those in.

I'm not saying you can't, I agree with you that you can gain HP from hondata, but people's expectations of their tune & how much HP they want from just the tune seem unrealistic, but like I said that's a whole other topic

How do you guys daily drive a car so loud? I just installed my ATLP j pipe, high flow cat, and resonated cat back, and it's prettttty loud. At 3k rpm my head vibrates. But maybe cause they are not broken in yet.

This is only my opinion. I'm the guy who thinks resonated ATLP is too loud, lol

Heres the thing, I tried to get the ATLP with the base tips, but couldn't. I didn't know I would need a new bumper to fit the quad exhaust, so I ghetto rigged it! I bought a new rear bumper for the paintjob im getting soon, I will just send it back and order a type-S, or possibly buy the A-SPEC lip if I can find it.

I take back my "opinions" about the Exhausts. They all sound good in their own respect. What happened to mine was whilst ghetto rigging it, I didn't Ghetto rigged for now.

Ghetto riggy
Old exhaust system,
Second supercharger!!
AEM Water/Meth kit came in!
notch out enough bumper and the muffler tip was hugging the plastic and creating vibrations into the cabin.

Great to hear form you Zeta! I remember you mentioning the seal earlier on the other S/C. Just bought the loctite!

Btw, I know its winter and the car is dirty and ghetto rigged int he back. But she will be brought back to life with new bumpers and fresh paintjob(after the S/C goes in).

Can someone give me a suggestion on what to do about the bumper situation? I bought a new one, but its a Base bumper. So these quad tips won't fit the new one.
