The "Photos You've Taken of Exotic/Desirable Cars" Thread
The truth is, I could likely engage with the business if I wanted to (Lake Forest Sports Cars) - my network is large enough that it wouldn't be too difficult. Hell someone chimed in about knowing the Huayra owner on my FB post (he also owns the P1 and One:1 and others, not surprisingly). These cars have been at that location for over a year I think, the Sergio included. The sort of sad truth is I have just been too lazy to make the effort to go there and look. They are still there now, I *kind of* think I will head back there soon and try for some proper pix of the cars. It's sort of annoying to get to from Chicago, the route almost always plagued with traffic. I hate traffic. I wanted to take more photos such as closeups and there were a heck of a lot more cars to shoot but I was burning up out there, it was like 100 degrees and there were so many people swarming everywhere. So I did what I could and bolted. As far as stepping on other's toes is concerned, I know all of the big car guys and photogs in the Chicago area and there is no exclusive situation going on with this business and any of them, so that wouldn't be a concern of mine. Who knows, maybe your post might motivate me.
FF seen in the wild (on the beltway) this morning ... The driver preferred to move along at a rather stately pace, which seems like a bit of a waste, but was fortuitous for my own picture-snapping purposes. That said, please forgive the crappy smart-phone pics.

It is always cool to spot an i8 in person, but yes it is a bit odd overall. I also can't tell what you are driving, but I see a white car and red stitching?
And, if its any consolation, it actually was NOT fun being there lol. It was super hot and humid and mobbed and I just wanted to get out. lol.
But you gotta go next year.

some snaps from SEMA - I think the Huayra Roadster is my favorite car of all time. It is fuggin PERFECT. And I like it SO much better than the standard version. I mean I wouldn't even rate the standard version on that list of top fav cars ever. STUNNING vehicle. 2000hp Ford GT was crazy. The sounds it was making holy shite. I have a video somewhere but I kind of lost it It was one of the loudest vehicles I've ever heard - and the sound was predominantly from the supercharger. INSANE.

I'm post some more pics later of that shop, pretty amazing place.
Where else can you find a 1955 $2.1M Ferrari and a $25k 1959 Les Paul at the same place

I've seen a slantnose 911 extremely similar to that one, but it was a RUF. Was at a classic consignment lot locally, years ago.
Want that Gullwing. So. Much.
Missed a couple yesterday, didn't have my phone handy
-Super well done Cobra (assuming kit)
-Rolls Silver Cloud, immaculate
- i8

I've never seen a gullwing with a brown interior. If it has been modified, bleh, it's worthless. I won't be shelling out 1.5M on a modified classic benz
also, that slant nose Porsche has RUF wheels...

Can't say I've seen one with brown interior either. Usually black, red, tan or the blue cloth.

IIRC the salesguy at the shop said only one of ~190 made in 1988.
Everything in the shop was immaculate.
The only intersting one was the XKSS is a replica, I asked the salesguy cause a real XKSS in that condition brings 8 figure money which I would doubt would be in a consignment shop even one as nice as Walt Grace's.
It was built in UK, with original tooling. Wiki has the story.

I missed a Veyron at a traffic light on Collins at a traffic light on Sunday morning (I was bicycling and too slow to get my iPhone out).
The construction on Collins is making bicycling difficult, the one lane makes playing Russian Roulette with cabs and busses.
AFAIK, it was original probably restored at some point (I've seen a handful of gullwings over the years in various interior colors).

I recall that Slantnose I saw locally had something claiming similar low production numbers, I think it was an '88 too. Also said that a red Slantnose cabrio was extremely low production numbers.

ome more pics of Walt Grace's and Wywood Gardens/Murals.
The last two pics are a pretty unusual Porsche 911 motor, 2.7l Bosch Kugelfischer mechanical fuel injection.
Common on the 2.4l early 70's racing and RS Porsche's, I never knew they had a 2.7l with it.

So, for those of you that live in LA, car spotting is a breeze. I took my wife to Beverly Hills for her birthday this week and I just couldn't believe how many exotics, sports cars, luxury cars, etc... were just, well, there. All the time. I've never seen so many i8 BMWs in 3 days in my life. Also all kinds of Porsches (GT3, RS, Carrera etc..), Bentleys, G Wagons, Rolls, F Types, M4s, a few Ferraris and Lamborghinis and oh, Tesla Model S and Range Rovers. We rented a 2016 RR Sport. We blended in well My wife was like every time I pointed out another car to her. Needless to say that was one of MY favorite aspects of our trip. I just wish we were there next week during the car show. Next year...
