Where's the cabin air temperature sensor?

I set the temperature to 78 degrees (57 outside) and the AC still wants to send cold air into the cabin. It stops doing that when I set it to 80 degrees and above. I'm thinking the cabin air temperature is feeling hot for some reason. Where do I find it (in a 07 TLS)? Can I clean it or whatever to make it work better?

Sensor is located under the steering wheel, one the right. You can see cutouts in plastic trim.

If you are in "Auto" car will use AC to remove moisture from air that goes into the cabin. When it's cold outside it shouldn't blow any air until engine warms up.

If you want to test that sensor:

Before reading out that sensor, you may want to run self-diagnostics on the HVAC system. A "sticky" climate control response could be failed air mix control motor(s).

A or B, however, would point to the cabin sensor.

This is great info! Any easy way to test thermostat or heating core? Getting cold air in my interior.

This was my exact problem and I just followed the steps in this post about a month or so ago. Completely fixed, heat works perfect. I cleaned and regreased the gears on motor that controls the cable to the heater valve with super lube grease and I also replaced the cable, like $7 from the dealer.

Temperature Humidity Sensor for 2014 TL

Will this same diagnostic work for a 2014 TL? This is my first winter in this car since I bought it used in July.
