Gatr...
I tried repairing my first broken one a few different times...I tired RTV and tape and different glues from the underside.
In the end, Matt is right...replace it if it bugs you, or remove it like Justin and you'll eventually forget it ever existed.

This might appeal to Majofo more than anyone else but I saw a decently priced '13 550i 6MT the other day. If it wasn't for priorities....

I'm craving more power, J. And preferably with 3 pedals. When it's time, I think I'll be leaning towards two options:

1: Keep TL because paid off and still runs well and looks good. Add weekend warrior to the stable (maybe a coupe or drop?
2: Replace TL with more powerful sedan with 3 pedals and use as daily.

Frantz,
I'd ask Dennis his thoughts since he had the TL and the S2000 and then upgraded his 4 door daily.
Personally, it's tough to say. I do think that my demands on what I want in a car are pretty vast but consistent.
Above all, has to be engaging and fun to drive...
look cool,
decent mpg,
powerful, (read: fun to drive...big heavy bitch needs lots of power, little S2000 and A3 do not)
somewhat versatile...

Now, if you can find ONE thing that has all of those in one car AND you can afford it...well...

To this day, I will say that although the Caddy is better in most ways...if you take looks and being paid off...there was nothing like the TL. Looking right, knew it like the back of my hand, reasonable power, exceptional mpg for what it was...reliable as fuck...

We convince ourselves we need something bigger and better and that's not necessarily the case. Look at me now...having the V, a dream car, S2000 too...taking it for granted and looking for the next thing.
Probably why I'm divorced. Probably.

that said,
S2000 and TL felt like a very similar driving experience...lowered 6MT Hondas...obviously different, but not different enough. Caddy is a torquey big bitch that also has a "cadillac" ride and gets looks and puts a smile on my face and is a joy to drive in traffic.

Think I just realized the right answer:
3G TL and Z06 6MT.

I disagree with J
I think you need to get in a torquey big dog ride.

Frantz, you live in the city right? Short commute?
I'd get a V or x63 AMG thing cuh

That torque and hellacious power slide is where it's at
It'll reinvent your commute
You'll find turns that start your day

You can drive them in the snow too, just need a winter setup
But as you know, not ideal

I saw a CTS wagon two nights ago on the freeway.. domestic type (non-V)
Wagon looks so boss... time slowed for a moment as I passed it going 120

In J's case...

I washed and pulled the roof bars yesterday...looking pimp as fuck...
cruise control at 69mph...19.9 mpg on the way to work. get near work, sideways around the corner.
Jekyll and Hyde, babe...3 Union bros were outside and were like, man, that thing is fucking boss as fuck.

Much like my work truck I now have a routine when I get in...competitive mode, sport transmission (downshift manually when I get near home to hold gear and hear gurgles and pops), and usually sport on suspension...

Fucking badass vehicle.

Only thing I'll say, Matt...and all other things aside...as far as Murrica fuck yeah and big power and power sliding...it's all good, but I'm sure you've experienced a well balanced awd propel you around a corner and slingshot instead of swinging...
not saying one is better than the other just that the V isn't the ONLY thing I can have fun in and has its limitations.

I have to agree with you there...
I have to sometimes pinch myself and remind myself I basically have a supercar station wagon and paid a reasonable price for it.
AND an S2000.
AND an Audi A3...

Humblebrag from your favorite Humblefhag.

Are you kidding J.. my bro's bugeye WRX on 30 pounds
That was the only ride I thought I was going to die in
We hit a freeway turn around (it's this sweeping turn here in TX)
He got into boost on the turn out and all I saw was the curb (justn) and death
He was laughing like a motherfucker

Anyways.. I understand your sentiments.
Sell it. Fuck.

LOL...naw...
that's the thing, I am just a spoiled bitch. I'm hanging onto some idea that the "best" car I've driven was the S5. Let's be real though...after the test drive the other day, I wasn't wowed by the power...sure, fit and finish was nice...but overall, is the styling on that car cutting edge? Classy? Yes...classic, sure...but safe...it doesn't make you look twice like the V does. Around corners...sure fucking thing but I don't live near the dragon and I don't track my cars. SOOOO...what the fuck is the point...only fun you can have in Florida is straight line acceleration. S2000 has it's place when it's cool out or evenings...but even that is a stretch.

Basically, we're fickle as humans...and I'm vocal af...so I seem like a maniac because I spit out whatever fleeting emotion comes to me.
When I take a step back, clean the car and really soak it in...the stance, the wheels, the interior, the badges...I've made that V my own and it is a sexy ass bad mother fucker.

and really if I wanted to stop justifying my stupidity...what kidna mileage would I be getting with a tuned S4!?!? 20 highway? 13 city?
Oh you mean like I already get in the V with 6 point two liters of fucking supercharged awesome with cheap GM parts to fix anything that comes my way??!?!

Yeah, like I said. The car isn't the problem. My own stupidity is. I don't learn my lesson. I talked the same shit about the TL and why I needed something else...now look at me...bellyachin about how I shouldn't have sold it.

Probably won't be the last time. Probably. I must like herpes.

and if I picked up a used S4 with over 100K for an amount "I couldn't pass up"...how cool would I feel I am if I had to replace the clutch or something even more expensive...all of a sudden my idea of the perfect car would change and I'd be whining about that American badass unique wagon I had that could do burnouts all day and get me home every day reliably.

#Neverhappycrew.

Not saying it won't happen at some point...I will try something else...maybe Merc or M3 or S4 or RS4 wagon...BUT if I do, it'll be under warranty and I'll pump and dump before that runs out.
I need to start making more decisions with my head and not my heart. I got people counting on me now.
