It's fat and chunky like everything else on the car.

yeah, it doesn't look like it doesn't belong. it fits.

It fits the motif of RWD Porsches. Rivets everywhere.
They're all custom builds, so I'm sure Nakai-san would oblige to make the rivets black/body colored.

Funny that I started this thread back in 2011, and in 2014 I brought one to Chicago for a show I was co-hosting. It definitely was worth it as the car was one of the main attractions.

Looks like an Oregon plate on that beezy. Pandora One? Does someone from Pandora own it?

Watch Nakai San build the first Rauh-Welt Targa
Akira Nakai San has been busy lately. The man behind Rauh-Welt Begriff recently took to slapping his trademark style on a 964 Targa. The build happened in LA, and it marks the very first Rauh-Welt has turned its eye towards the 911 with the removable roof.
Purists will likely recoil in horror at the sight of Nakai taking a rattle can and a drill to any 911, even a lowly Targa, but there's something about the builder's cavalier style that makes me smile. It's just a car, after all.

sideways tach is for racing purposes - to make it easier to see - literally to reduce the distance your eyeball has to move to see the redline
it also adds to this certain stylistic effect

btw Work custom makes the Meister's up to 16" wide
guessing RWB's are the primary purpose for that.

Agreed, just not quite right, compared to the classic 911 RWBs. Doesn't seem to work as well on a modern 911.
