I dream of one day owning an RS model. Probably won't ever own one, though

 

It wont happen with that attitude

 

hit a couple car shows today including the one I have never been to - and damn it did not disappoint.......

 

That Sergio spot is pretty epic. It's a shame you can't find a way to promote your photography at these events without probably stepping on someone's toes; I think a lot of these guys would love to see their cars from your lens.

The LaFerrari Aperta was just perfect. I much prefer the silver wheels over the black. Ok I would have preferred red mirrors but not a huge deal.

The truth is, I could likely engage with the business if I wanted to (Lake Forest Sports Cars) - my network is large enough that it wouldn't be too difficult. Hell someone chimed in about knowing the Huayra owner on my FB post (he also owns the P1 and One:1 and others, not surprisingly). These cars have been at that location for over a year I think, the Sergio included. The sort of sad truth is I have just been too lazy to make the effort to go there and look. They are still there now, I *kind of* think I will head back there soon and try for some proper pix of the cars. It's sort of annoying to get to from Chicago, the route almost always plagued with traffic. I hate traffic. I wanted to take more photos such as closeups and there were a heck of a lot more cars to shoot but I was burning up out there, it was like 100 degrees and there were so many people swarming everywhere. So I did what I could and bolted. As far as stepping on other's toes is concerned, I know all of the big car guys and photogs in the Chicago area and there is no exclusive situation going on with this business and any of them, so that wouldn't be a concern of mine. Who knows, maybe your post might motivate me.

 

I like these photos I took with my iPhone 6+ better than with my other cameras.... shows the essence of the car better.

Spent 45 mins with friend's 800hp GTR the other day, solid. Had a few highway pulls, beastly. And to think in terms of modded GTR's this one is on the tame side. It runs mid 10's.

 

Best page in this thread yet. My God. Everything's just so beautiful.

Little back story on that white S4 Avant at the top of my post.

The owner converted a B5 S4 Avant into a full OEM B5 RS4 car - all factory Audi panels were used; Front bumper, hood, fenders, doors, sideskirts, hatch, and rear quarter panels were all welded in.

Fun fact: The conversion process (just body panels alone, no body work / welding) go for $15,000.

Not only that, the car has a built 3.0L, RS6 turbos, the full sha-bang ....

A friend of mine told me it was for sale at the Wuste festival in Las Vegas this year - I got the owners phone number and engaged him on price.

He wanted $30,000 for it

(I would totally buy it at $25,000, no questions asked).

 

Not exotic, but full of character and nice to see in my neighborhood....
