Custom Carbon Fiber Parts

Hello. So i'm almost done with the 3g TL molds ( pictures below ) and going to get into the 4g TL.

We can get into a
full carbon trunk with or without ducklip
fenders with or without vents
hood with or without vents
trunk lip alone any style ( duck lip / csl )

Would there be any suggestions / requests / information you may want to tell me to help? Which one would you like to see first?

Cool out of that list im liking hood/fenders and im pro vents. What also comes to mind that I would buy is a cf diffuser for the front lip of the a-spec kit.

It'd say the rear lip/trunk is going to be difficult with the TL due to the camera and button but I'm sure you guys can figure it out! I'd def want a CF rear trunk lip, and I know a lot of folks look for a good looking CF diffuser for front or rear with the factory bodykit. The trunk is going to be more meh in my opinion, not many sales.

Agree with Potz...I don't think the '09 - '11 models had one but I'd really like to see the stock lower diffuser piece for the rear bumper on 12 - '14. It's also flat black from the factory...reference #24 in the diagram below. Here's the OEM part number:

71504-TK4-A00. (Number 24 in the diagram, located to the right with the '12 - '14 parts)

And hey, while you're at it, why not the garnish molding between the trunk and rear bumper. I've seen many guys DIY'ing that piece as well as the front grille in CF. Why not make a legit version? That part is #10 on the left side of the diagram ( '09 - '11) and #25 on the right side ( '12 - '14).

Thanks!

-greg

Front lip and front grill to replace the chrome portion would be nice as well.

Ugh. Must avoid spending more money lol. Hood and trunk would be bad ass. Anything to reduce weight is a bonus for us 4Gers.

I wonder how much weight that would save - especially the hood, taking it off the heavy front end of the car...

Not sure about the trunk but I believe our 4G's have aluminum hoods. Not sure if carbon fiber would weigh much less, maybe even a bit more. I remember reading something about how much thought went into weight savings for the 4G.

Yeah, you'd probably need dry carbon or something really $$$ to make replacing the hood worthwhile (although functional venting might not be bad? Don't the J series tend to get bogged down with high IATs?). Fenders might not be a bad idea, guessing they're still steel.

I agree that any tech people are probably not going to bite on a trunk, but for base models that might be a good idea. I'd consider shield/beak parts if they're not too expensive and actual replacement parts instead of overlays. Mine are painted, but they're also chip magnets.

Let's get really ambitious and go for a carbon roof skin!

If anyone wants an idea of what the lower "diffuser" part would look like in carbon, the PO of my car hydro-dipped it, and I think it looks decent:

That looks really good. I think it would look good with a few fins added like the new A-spec TLX's have:

Can't help but notice you've got a Texas plate, hope all is well with you and your family, crazy news coming out of the Houston area lately with all the flooding.

Beak/shield parts yes! For the 2009-2011 years I think that would be what most would want. The only ones I've seen are a sport china grill and the RonJon one. I've purchased the china one and I'm not in love with it @ all, looks OK but flimsy as hell and not well made(fiberglass).

I'd consider something that completely swaps the silver piece below and accepts the 2012 shield(inset) and emblem. It would have to bolt on to the black 09-11 structure though.

Based on my experience on other platforms and working with Retrospec on one of my other cars. The following is my opinion on what people would actually spend money on.
1. Carbon fiber Lip attachment for the existing TL gurney spoiler, something like this

2.Cargon fiber window visors , would need to be double sided taped.

3.Carbon fiber rear trunk duckbill with camera location built in (tech guys won't lose their rear cam)

4 Carbon fiber rear diffuser

5. Carbon fiber lip splitter that would attach to both the aspec and stock bumper using the natural contours , the mold could be the same.

6. Carbon Fiber Engine bay plastics

7. Carbon fiber radio antenna cover

8. Carbon fiber grill set up for the 09-11

9.Carbon fiber rear trunk piece as stated above (silver trim piece)

In my humble opinion.

That cf color rear diffuser does look really nice especially on that color of car. Heres what some fins look like.

I think this is a really good idea and has the potential to sell a lot. Would defiantly buy.

We just finished the mold for paddle shifters in carbon fiber that fit this car.

Unfortunately we have made about 6 molds for this 4g tl and they all didn't sell as expected. We are working on a rear roof spoiler next, but I don't see anything crazy like splitters or hoods in the future.

Thanks for the update. Im wondering what are the 6 molds and are you still selling all of them?

I know of the front grill, door handles, steering wheel and paddle shifters.

What about the lip that hangs off the trunk... is the camera/button too much of an issue?

Are there any pictures of the front grill piece and/or door handles on a 4g TL?

With the door handles for the 4G TL, does it have holes in the front 2 handles for the keyless entry button or is it for the base model only?

370z CF parts, please!! Especially for the 2015+ Nismo!!!!

Seriously, you'd sell carbon fiber like hot cakes within the Z/G communities. They're both decent sized markets, and people LOVE carbon fiber in both of them, like crazy.

Yeah its very possible you can get it without the perforated leather. But I doubt you will want it once you see the price lol.

On another note still no idea if the paddle extensions fit sh-awd, still interested but I think they will block the view of the engine temp gage on the left and the fuel gage on the right. That's a bit of a bummer.

I think it's more or less the same price, regardless of how you option it. I'd imagine more CF will be more $$$, but other than that...

Right I wouldn't think it would be more or less for non perforated leather just meant the price in general.

I'd be interested in the following:
- Carbon trunk without the wing (will use the stock painted trunk lip to give it a little more character)
- Carbon mirror caps (indifferent at the moment)
- Carbon hood (I'm for vents if they flowed with the body of the car along with cooling functionalities)
- Carbon rear bumper garnish
- Carbon window visors/ sunroof visors
- Carbon trim pieces to replace the chrome OEM versions
- Carbon foglight housing
- Carbon to replace the interior silver/grey accents. (Saw this on my buddy's 2017 Accord and it looked really nice and subtle. It's a variation between dry and glossy. Satin possibly)

I pretty much want to get rid of any silver/chrome accents and replace them with carbon fiber parts or paint matched.

Any chance you can do a carbon fiber fuel door for the 4G TL?

How about a carbon fiber version of all that chrome trim that runs from the windshield to the back window?
